GREY WATER
GREY WASTE WATER

IS WATER THAT IS COLLECTED FROM CERTAIN DRAINAGE DEVICES SUCH

AS (HAND WASHING BASINS, BATHTUBS). THEN COLLECTED IN GRAY
WATER TANK IN ORDER TO TREATMENT PROCESS TO RECYLE IT AGAIN IN
OTHER USES SUCH AS THE FLUSHING SYSTEM FOR CW’s and URINALS,
IRRIGATION SYSTEM NETWORK.

GREY WSATE WATER
GREY WASTE WATER TANK

Vent piping system is installed to balance pressure inside the tank during water
filling and suction process since it reliefs tank vapor pressure to the outside
GREY WSATE WATER
COMPRESSOR

The compressor injects air inside

the tank to cause aeriation that
helps in recirculation of air inside
the tank, reducing algae and
bacteria growth
GREY WSATE WATER
UF FILTERS SET

• Ultrafiltration (UF) is a water purification process

in which water is forced through a
semipermeable membrane. Suspended solids and high-
molecular-weight solutes remain on one side of the
membrane, the retentate side, while water and low-
molecular-weight solutes filter through to the permeate
side
• The pore size of ultrafiltration membranes ranges from
0.1 to 0.01 microns,
• The membranes used in ultrafiltration require
maintenance cleaning to prevent fouling with solids,
scaling, and microbiological agents such as microbes and
algae. Separated contaminants condensed in the UF
retentate must be disposed of
GREY WSATE WATER
UV FILTERS

Ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate

harmful pathogens in your
home’s water and destroy illness-
causing microorganisms by
attacking their genetic core
(DNA).

flocculation
• Flocculation is the agglomeration of
destabilized particles into micro-
particles and after into bulky floccules
which can be settled called floc. The
addition of another reagent called
flocculant or a flocculant aid may
promote the formation of the floc.
• It removes solids from water, by manipulating
electrostatic charges of particles suspended
in water. This process introduces small, highly
charged molecules into water to destabilize
the charges on particles, colloids, or oily
materials in suspension
GREY WSATE WATER
Person consume a certain amount of water per day, the waste water output
accordingly is about 85% from the water supply, and with relative to 2/3 of the waste
water is grey and 1/3 is Soil , the quantity of system supply will be revealed.

For office application the grey water output is about 5 gal./D/occupant, and for
residential 25 gal./D/occupant.

The grey water demand for an office building is estimated based on 3 toilet or urinal
uses/day/person. For calculation purposes, assume the population is 50% male and
50% female, and that men use urinals 75% of the time and water closets 25% of the
time.

Difference between daily quantities of supply and demand is required to be supplied

from potable water network (Makeup quantity).
