Encapsulated Corrosion Inhibitor
ProSolv CI8080 corrosion inhibitor is designed to:
• Protect steel and other metals from corrosion.
• Work over a wide range of pH levels.
• Provide excellent resistance to acid attack from
HCI, H2S, CO2 organic acids.
• Minimize emulsification potential.
Description and Use
ProSolv CI8080 is an encapsulated solid, broad
spectrum, filming inhibitor impregnated onto porous
media that covers a wide range of metals, corrodents,
pH levels, and temperatures.
This product is effective against several inorganic and
organic acid species, including: hydrochloric acid,
hydrogen sulfide, sulfoxy-acids, and acetic acid.
Compared to traditional products, ProSolv CI8080
maintains maximum corrosion protection on carbon
steel over a wider pH range.
Application
This inhibitor provides excellent corrosion protection in
a wide variety of corrosion and oil and gas production
conditions. It can be added to the well’s rathole or
pumped into the reservoir during frac jobs to provide
continuous long-term protection.
Treatment
Proper treatment levels for ProSolv CI8080 depend on
many factors, such as the water chemistry, nature and
concentration of corrodents, temperature, operating
conditions, and system metallurgy. Usage rates will vary
depending on how the product is applied and production
rates through the protected system.
For maximum effectiveness and protection, ProSolv
CI8080 should be added to the well’s rathole either by

mixing with water at 50/50 ratio and pumping down the
backside of the well (in the case of packerless
completions). The alternative is to add to the well during
workover, down the tubing. Allow time for the material to

settle in the rathole.

DO NOT MIX with other corrosion inhibitor chemicals
unless compatibility has been checked and approved by
a qualified Veolia representative.
Evaluation
The ProSolv CI8080 program must be conscientiously
evaluated through periodic recordings of critical system
parameters, such as corrosion rates using probes or
coupons, iron counts, failure rates, chemical residuals,
and equipment service life.
