Turn ON/OFF Power to BMS
Before Isolating the power to the LIB BMS, turn off or trip the Battery breaker on the desired rack as shown below.

In order shutdown the Battery BMS, he 2 AC supplies shown below must be disconnected/powered off. Vice Versa, the AC supplies have to
be connected/powered on to turn on the battery BMS as well as providing the voltage needed for the undervoltage coil in the battery breaker
to operate (reset & turn on).

Schneider Electric Critical Power & Cooling Services –Oct 2009

The AC supplies to the BMS can be cut off via isolating the corresponding
fuses at the input and output side as shown in the picture below.
Battery System Operation

The battery system for a UPS is designed to be always on. The UPS and the critical load must be set up
so that the battery systems maximum allowable voltage and current are not exceeded.

Indicator LED
Four indicator LED s on the front of the Switchgear Assembly in each rack displays the status of the
battery system per string. Table 2-1 shows each LED s color and the battery status indicated.
System Reset

To reset the battery system; e.g. after a major fault or minor alarm, press the “reset button” on the front of the SMPS. This will reset all fault &
alarms on the system and return the system to normal status.
