First, let's learn about how to take obstetric history.

There are also: M, F, S, D. In addition, there are 2 more parts: Menstrual History and
obstetric history.

1. Coming to the first item is to take menstrual history. Ask her at what age she
started menstruation. Is her menstrual period regular? And whether
menstruation is heavy or not, We also need to know if she has menstrual cramps.
Most importanly, Ask when the first day of her last menstrual period was. From
there calculate the expected date of delivery.
2. Next, Let's take her obstetric history. Ask her how many times she has been
pregnant. Ask her how many children she has and asked if they were still alive.
exploit previous type of delivery: normal or cesarean section. Don't ignore
obstetric complications (if any).
3. Third, take her medical history. Record all the diseases she has treated and is
treating, including medical diseases, surgical diseases and gynecological diseases.
4. Next, about her family medical history. Includes information about her
husband's sexually transmitted diseases and genetic diseases in her family.
5. Next, Social history is also helpful. Find out if she smokes or drinks alcohol. In
addition, we need to exploit her lifestyle.
6. The finally, drug history. Find out a name, a dosage and a rout of a medication
she’s taking. Remember that there is also a history of allergies.
 The purpose of taking a obstetric history is to assess the important details in
order to detect risk factors for the patient and her fetus.
