1. The Assembly started with the opening message from the Barangay
Chairman Eduardo P. Tan. It includes him expressing his gratitude to all the people who
attended the assembly despite their respective busy schedule. After that the barangay
council started to report the accomplishments that they have done for the last quarter of
last year up to the present. They have also reported their plans for the upcoming months.
Committee on Health – Her accomplishments so far are those relating to garbage
collection, free medicine supplies from the barangay and also the surroundings
and regular pre natal check up. First she said that the garbage collection is still
stabilizing although there are times when it does not go house to house and only
get garbages which are on the way so some of the people are complaining that the
garbage collection is unstable. Next is the free medicine supplies, the barangay
has recently purchased some medicine to be given to constituents who are in need.
The barangay has these medicines: Cefalexin, Amoxicillin, Cotrimoxazole, and
some others. According to her there are still regular pre natal checkups for
pregnant women in the barangay and the surrounding is clean. However, she took
the chance to ask the people who own dogs if they could keep their dogs in their
houses or tie them so that it will not be able to hurt others. Another reason is the
surroundings because dogs tend to poop anywhere and it is not good for the
cleanliness of the barangay but of course safety is the priority of the barangay so
more than the dirty surroundings the danger of rabies is prioritized so dog owners
are strongly advised to tie their dogs. Then she handed the mic to the barangay
chairman who in turn handed it to the chairman of the Committee on Finance.
Committee on Finance-She reported the summary of income generated in the
barangay. Those are mainly from two sources which are Clearances and Water
Collection. As of this month the total collections from Clearances are P 3,810 and
for the Water Collection it is 370 pesos. Some of the proceeds of the water
collection are used for the snacks of the doctors who are conducting the free
checkup in the barangay. After that she cleared a fact. She said that people should
not think that the barangay council has money in their pockets. She explained that
every centavo which goes out of the fund is accompanied by a resolution so it
means that the barangay cannot just spend funds according to how they want it.
Committee on Peace and Order- He mentioned the accomplishment and said
that those were curfew ordinance. Then he advised the citizens who are there that
they should respect their neighbours. He said that people should not make any
noise after ten o’clock in the evening and told them that they can do it in the
morning. He even made a suggestion to the people. He said that they can start as
early as eight o’clock in the morning so that they can finish it before ten in the
evening or if not maybe just lower the volume so as not to disturb other people.
He said that to give respect to the people who needs rest and sleep because of
their respective works the next day.
Committee on Education- He has plenty of accomplishments He said that he has
done something in Block 19. There is also an ongoing project of the City
Government of Tacloban for the school but the inspections are still ongoing. He
said that he is also monitoring the possible help that he can do for the school.
Then he requested the parents of the students of the school to give their children
undying support. He also
