SLAC ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

TOPIC: CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS
SPEAKER: MRS. NIDA L. AGUAS, HT III

VENUE: ROOM 7 (9-NITROGEN CLASSROOM)

personhood of the customer, in the context of always doing what is best for the

Days before the start of the School Year 2023-2024, the Gerry H. Rodriguez High School
Faculty came together in the first School Learning Action Cell to refresh knowledge and discuss about
the important articles and sections of the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, in order to re-learn
the values that must be emulated among teachers and the things that must be avoided.

In the said SLAC the following activities transpired;

o Ms. Darlene L. Mangio facilitated the registration of the participants.
o Mr. Argie C. Angeles, as the master of the ceremony, called to order the participants within the
SLAC venue.
o SLAC formally started with a Makabayan Song conducted by Ma’am Suzzane Pineda.
o It was proceeded with an opening prayer led by Ma’am Wilma M. Guevarra.
o Sir Mar Jay Castillanes delivered the food for thought for the said activity. In which the
participants pondered on the story of ‘Isang Basong Tubig’, in which it talks about how we deal
with struggles and problems we encounter in life (i.e. in professional life of a teacher).
o As a norm, the Principal Ma’am Lydia D. Canlas, has provided her welcome remarks to all the
participants and the importance of the SLAC topic.
o Ma’am C had also shared the significance of new school hashtag which is #GerryCARES,
which stands to C-ollaborate; A-ssert; R-espect; E-mpower and S-erve with a Smile
o A roll call per department was facilitated by Sir Edmond C. Bengco.
o For the SLAC resource speaker; Ma’am Darlene L. Mangio introduced Ma’am Nida L. Aguas.
o For the session proper, Ma’am Nida L. Aguas delivered the topic on Code of Ethics
o The SLAC turned out to be very informative and engaging because of the presence of a
knowledgeable speaker and very participative audience.

 o SLAC ended with distribution of Certificate of Appreciation and Certificate of Participation
Other announcements/matters/concerns were also addressed. These are the following;

 Ma’am Canlas wrapped up the virtues and values that each teacher must possess in order to effectively
perform the duties and responsibilities.
 Teaching loads and schedules will be given within the week, preferably on Thursday (Aug. 24, 2023)
 Submission day of DLL/DLP will be every MONDAY before break time (9:00am)
 Time duration for AM and PM recess is 30 minutes.
 Class observation will be done once every quarter per teacher, which may be announced or
unannounced.
 Awards/Recognition will be given during Flag Ceremony (i.e. Most Honest, Best Classroom;
Perfect Attendance)
 Submission of Quarterly Accomplishment Report per Department is care of the Department
Leader (but contents will be collected from each member)
 Conceptualization of Project per Department for the current school year
 Waste Management - School must collect 10 sacks every month
 Every Tuesday - Segregation Day
 Every Wednesday – Pick Up Day

The SLAC was proceeded with a Faculty Meeting facilitated by SBM Leaders; Ma’am Nida L. Aguas
and Sir Edmond C. Bengco. The following activities happened;
1. announcement of Leaders and members per SBM Dimension;
2. distribution of SBM Tool per dimension; and,
3. scheduling of meeting with SBM Dimension Leaders on September 2, 2023.
