CONDITIONALS

Example:
I can’t come over because I have a lot of work to do.
If I didn’t have a lot of work to do, I could come over.
1. I won’t go to Italy on holiday this summer because I don’t have enough money.

3. He ripped his new jacket, so he couldn’t wear it to the event.

1. Read sentences 1-6, find idioms with body parts and match them to the
definitions a-f. (New Destinations, 11)
1. Do you really want to become a singer or are you just pulling my leg?
2. Jenny’s new haircut raised a few eyebrows at school.
3. Darren’s putting on a brave face but I don’t think the news the doctor gave him
was good.
4. My four-year-old daughter’s behaviour is getting out of hand so I asked my mum
for some advice on how to deal with the situation.
5. Mrs Larson expects her daughter to follow in her footsteps and take over her
dance studio.
