Game-changing design
Quadrofoil Q2 is a result of a four-year development peri-
od, an amazing process of creative thinking, designing, en-
gineering and testing. From the first time you lay your eyes
on our exceptional watercraft, you will see that it cannot be
compared to anything else in the marine business. We’ve
designed it to be pure art on water, to be unique and recog-
nizable in the flood of many recreational boats, jet-ski’s and
other vessels.
Our designers and engineers have optimized every aspect
of the Q2’s design, including the new and advanced hydro-
foil technology. This has given the Q2 a wide-spectrum of
unique improvements in efficiency, range, maneuverability,
safety and comfort.
D E S I G N
Unique C-Shape hydrofoils
Popularly referred to as wings, our carefully designed C‐
Shape hydrofoils allow the Q2 to rise above the surface of
the water at just over 12 km/h (6.5 knots) and cut through
the waves with complete ease. Special aluminum alloy is ex-
clusively used in the construction making the foils extra light,
super strong, and highly corrosion-resistant.
From the top to the winglets, each part of our hydrofoils has
been carefully designed and crafted to follow the natural dy-
namics of water, all to provide optimum control, stability and
unmatched efficiency.
State-of-the-art ergonomics
Support and freedom. Two words that guided us in develop-
ing a high-end ergonomic cockpit, inspired by the automotive
industry. We have studied every aspect of the best automo-
tive interior designs – from seating angles and dimensions

Push the limits
Great thought and consideration was given to the user expe-
rience in the development of the Quadrofoil watercraft. The
patented steering system was designed and engineered for
drivers who want a Go-Kart” agility that provides for a thrill-
ing and exhilarating driving experience.
It enables simultaneous control of all four foils (rear foils turn
opposite of the front foils) and the motor, which gives the Q2
an impressive steering radius of 7 meters (23 feet), making
it one of the most agile and responsive watercrafts available
today.

The electric revolution
Every aspect of the Q2 was designed to give you a never-be-
fore-seen performance. We needed an electric motor that
could reach even higher and change the game – so we made
one. The result is one of the lightest electric motors on the
market that offers a totally new and exhilarating driving ex-
perience and delivers an exceptionally smooth and quiet ride.
Sleek racing design with exceptional details is available in two
version, each exceptionally complimenting the two models -
Q2A Electric and Q2S Electric. The motor was designed and
engineered to deliver flawless performance, while maintain-
ing high-efficiency and constant power.
Next generation battery and BMS
Quadrofoil is powered by two industry standard Lithium-Ion
battery packs, located on each side of the vessel. They can be
fully recharged in 3 to 4 hours (depending on the Q2 model)
from a standard 110V/230V outlet.
A state-of-the art battery pack is controlled by a bespoke
Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors every cell
using advanced algorithms that make sure your Quadrofoil
has the optimum power from the beginning to the end of
your journey.

rofoil anywhere you want. Thanks to the electric motor and
hydrofoil technology, the Q2 throws the smallest wake and
does not erode the river banks, making it an ideal watercraft
for driving anywhere from intercity rivers to canals and es-
tuaries.

Take a ride with the Q2.
All four foils and the electric motor are removable and can
be stored in a van or the trunk of a car. The hull can then be
easily lifted on the trailer like any other boat. Special Quadro-
foil trailers are available as part of the accessories, therefore,
acquire your own and ride towards the adventure with your
Q2S.
Safe place for your belongings
The watertight compartment in the forward section of the
Q2 is intended for storage of personal items and includes a
storage basket, which can be removed.

Safe haven for your Quadrofoil
Don’t have a pier? Don’t worry, you can simply get your very
own inflatable dock, customized for Quadrofoil Q2. Mix and
match different parts and interconnect them to provide a
safe haven for 1 to 10 Quadrofoils. The inflatable Q-moor-
ing point is made from Hypalon and is simple to set up and
put away. Its special shape facilitates a firm docking point for
embarking and debarking.

This Reference User Manual does not represent a boating or
maritime safety course. The Quadrofoil Q2S Electric is un-
like any craft you have ever driven, which is why you should
acquire information about its handling and behaviour before
you “take control”.
NOTE
Upon delivery, the vehicle is not suited for use because
the craft’s battery is empty. Before the first use, it is

Pre-ride check
Due to safety and suitable care, always inspect the craft be-
fore the drive. Before the drive, check the operational suit-
ability of the hull, foils, motor, steering system and equip-
ment. Also check the battery and other points on the check
list of inspections before the driving in this reference user
manual. Please, see section seven.

WARNING
Inspect the craft and boating area. If you find anything WARNING
that could represent a possible danger, do not drive.
Never exceed the maximum recommended load while
loading the craft. Never store objects outside the lug-

load limit can affect the stability, swiftness and performance

Means of reboarding
To reboard the craft, pull out the ladder on the left side of
the transom.
Check the weather.
Before the departure, check the local weather forecast.
While driving, watch the weather; pay special attention to
the changing weather conditions.
Check the water conditions.
Before the ride, check possible specifications of the boating
area charts. Your maps should always be accurate and up-
dated. Always check the weather conditions of the area you
are going to sail.
Wear your personal floating device and protective clothing
and gear.
Wear your personal floating device (PFD) suitable for use on
personal watercrafts (PWC). Quadrofoil recommends the use
of personal floating device in the form of a vest. Make sure
that your PFD suits you and that it will not come off in the
water. Never use PFD for adults on children.
WARNING
By not using your PFD, there is a higher possibility for
drowning in case someone falls overboard. Make sure
that you and your passenger always wear your PFD
while handling the Q2S.
Children and non-swimmers must also wear personal
floating device during the ride. Make sure that it is ap-
propriately adjusted and attached.
Wear neoprene shorts or other protective clothing.
We recommend that you wear neoprene shorts or thicker
clothing which offers the same protection against possible
injuries.
Other protective equipment
Use protective footwear, protective gloves and protective
glasses. While handling the craft, wear an appropriate eye
protection such as protective glasses. Spraying of water
can hurt your eyes or temporarily blind you and cause an
accident. It is recommended to wear protective swimming
glasses. Use protective footwear such as boat shoes or ten-
nis shoes.
NOTE
In case you are going on a longer ride, dress appropri-
ately for your own protection (wear glasses or protective
glasses, head protection and suitable clothing – upper
and lower part).
Get acquainted with boarding rules.
The driver and the passenger must know how to swim and
come to the craft in the middle of the water. Boarding in deep
water can be exhausting. Before handling the craft in deep
water, practise the boarding in shallow water up to your
chest.
Know boating laws.
Respect the valid boating laws. Get acquainted with a valid
navigation system, and make sure that you understand it
(such as buoys and signs) and remember the local naviga-
tional regulations. It is recommended to do a boating field
safety course and it can be done in your country as well as in
the country or region where you want to sail.
Quadrofoil recommends that the minimum age of the driv-
er is 16 years. Get acquainted with the required driver’s age
and training in your own country or region and in countries
to which you wish to travel with your craft. It is NOT recom-
mended that the craft is handled by persons with a short
sight, poor judgement, poor response and limited handling
ability.
Attach/remove the engine shut-off cord.
When handling the Q2S, always attach the safety shut-off
cord to your wrist, so that the motor will stop in case the driver
falls overboard. The safety cord should not be near the steer-
ing levers or other objects. After finishing your drive, remove
the safety cord from the Q2S to prevent an unauthorised use
for children and other people.
Before a new boarding, make sure that the motor is turned
off and the safety cord for turning off the motor is removed.
For attaching/removing of the safety cord for turning off the
motor, see section eight where you can find detailed instruc-
tions therefor.
First, practise.
Before you set sail, get acquainted with all the controls, func-
tions and handling features. Until you are not experienced
enough for handling the craft, do not handle the craft with a
passenger. Handling the craft with a passenger demands ex-
cellent handling ability. Before handling the craft with a pas-
senger, get used to the craft’s handling features and practise
hard.
NOTE
Before you start the training, carefully read the handling
instructions in section eight and make sure that you un-
derstand them.

Where to practise?
Find an appropriate practice area. Make sure that the prac-
tice area fulfils the following requirements:
• no traffic,
• no obstacles,
• no swimmers,
• no current,
• a lot of available manoeuvring space,
• deep enough water.
Practice excercises:
Perform the following practices by yourself:
TURNING
Practise turning and circling in both directions at a low speed.
When you have no more trouble practising, increase the diffi-
culty level and drive in the eight-shape.
When you master the eight, repeat the first practise at a
higher speed.
CAUTION
First, practise at a speed up to 10 km/h (no-foiling
mode). When you get used to the craft and water-driv-
ing, you may increase the speed and use the foils (foiling
mode).
STOPPING DISTANCE
Practise stopping the craft in a straight line at different
speeds.
Do not forget that water resistance is the main factor for
speed decreasing and the stopping distance.
NOTE
The craft’s speed, load, current and wind are important
factors influencing the stopping distance.
CAUTION
Always make sure that you have enough room for stop-
ping or manoeuvring to avoid a possible collision.

DRIVING BACKWARDS
Practise backwards driving to find out how the craft behaves
when driving backwards and responds to the steering.
NOTE
Always perform this practise at a low speed.
AVOIDING OBSTACLES
Practise obstacle-avoiding by choosing an imaginary point
on the surface and trying to steer the craft without slowing
down.
DOCKING
Practise landing and steering for a better knowledge on how
the Q2S responds.
CAUTION
With the Q2S, always land with the left (port) or right
(starboard) side turned to the pier. If you land with the
bow or stern turned to the pier, you can heavily damage
the Q2S.
Factors affecting the craft’s operation.
Remember that the conditions below directly influence the
behaviour and response of your craft to steering:
• load,
• currents,
• wind,
• water conditions.
By following these conditions, be careful and ready to adjust
and respond accordingly. In case of mild manoeuvres, always
decrease the speed to a minimum.
Drive to the extent of your abilities.
Drive to the extent of your abilities and avoid aggressive ma-
noeuvres to lower the risk of losing the control, falling from
the craft or collision. The product Q2S Electric is a high-end
craft and not a toy.
CAUTION
Do not operate at maximum speed while in congested
high traffic waterways or weather and sea conditions
of reduced visibility, high winds or large waves. Reduce
speed and wake as a courtesy and as a safety consid-
eration to yourself and others. Observe and obey speed
limit and no wake zones.
Do not jump over wakes and waves.
With sharp turns or jumping over wakes and waves, the risk
of serious back/spine and face injuries as well as fractures
increases.
Do not jump off the craft.
Do not climb on the Q2S to jump from it into water. By climb-
ing and walking on the craft, you might cause serious dam-
age to the craft or injuries to yourself.
Never drive if you took medicine or consumed alcohol.
Never drive under the influence of medicine or alcohol. Simi-
lar as a car driver, the craft driver must be sober and careful.
Driving under the influence of medicine or alcohol is not only
dangerous but also represents a serious violation of the law
with a severe punishment. Also make sure that your co-pas-
sengers did not take any medicine or consumed alcohol.
WARNING
By driving the craft under the influence of medicine and
alcohol, you are endangering the lives of co-passengers
and other craft drivers as well as yourself. The law for-
bids such a behaviour.
Do not approach the motor.
When the craft is turned on, do not approach the motor.
Do not wear clothes with straps, belts or other parts which
might get caught in the moving parts and can cause serious
injuries or drowning.
DANGER
When the craft is on, do not approach the propeller.
NOTE
This vessel has an electric outboard engine installed and
is thus equipped with integral start-in-gear protection
device. See operating instructions for more information.
Preventing a collision
Collisions cause more injuries and deaths than any other ac-
cident with a personal craft. Get acquainted with the craft’s
features and follow all the warnings to avoid collision. Al-
ways check if there are people, objects or other crafts in the
vicinity. Follow the conditions which limit the visibility and
view of other crafts.

WARNING
DO NOT start the motor or handle the craft if there is
someone in its vicinity or nearby in the water.
Drive in safe water areas. Drive carefully at a safe speed and
at a safe distance to people, objects and other crafts:
Do not drive in pursuit of other crafts and boats. Do not ap-
proach other people to splash them with water.
Do not make sharp turns or other manoeuvres which would
be hard for others to avoid or they would not know in which
direction you drive. Avoid areas with submerged objects
and shallows. Act quickly to avoid a collision. Be aware that
personal crafts and other boats do not have brakes. Due to
the braking force, you must hold on while braking or slowing
down to prevent being thrown ahead or losing balance. Do
not try to prevent a collision by turning off the motor. If you
press the stop button or pull out the safety cord for turning

Wind and waves
The craft is not suited for driving in the wind and on waves,
thus they need to be avoided. When the wind is weak (up to
7.7 m/s), the effects of a flat bottom are felt during the ride
because the wind is caught under the craft and can in case of
thrusts affect its behaviour.
The craft cuts through smaller waves (up to 0.5 m), while higher
ones (more than 0.5 m) hit the craft’s hull. For safety reasons, if
there is wind (thrusts stronger than 7.7 m/s) and waves (higher
than 0.5 m), you must stop the vehicle, lift the foils and continue
in the direction of a harbour in CRUISE MODE.
Keep the Q2S in a safe condition.

Changes on your craft can influence its stability or handling

Prevention of major damages
CAUTION
In certain conditions, your Q2S can sustain serious dam-
ages and the repair can be expensive. Carefully read the
following section and consider the recommendations
for preventing serious damage on your craft to avoid
such conditions.
Watch where you step.
To avoid damage or fracture of vehicle parts, do not step or
walk on every spot and do not climb on top of the Q2S. Check
the sections DRIVING AND HANDLING in this reference user
manual to see where in the Q2S vehicle you can step safely.
Antislip

Always check if the foils and motor are damaged.
Before the ride, always check the foils and motor for dam-
age, since it is the only way to avoid a possible accident. Be-

Never start the motor on land.
When it is under pressure, the motor can be started only in
the water. It is also designed to cool down in the water, which
is why it can be damaged if it rotates in dry environment.

Do not use force because you might damage the craft.
Water depth
Before lowering the foils and motor, ensure that the water
is deep enough for foils and motor not to hit the ground or
any other obstacle. Also, lift them in the upper position when
coming from deep into more shallow water. In case of an ac-
cident, you can hurt yourself and damage the craft.
Do not add components of your own accord.
Do not add electric components which have not been offi-
cially approved by Quadrofoil on your craft and do not con-
nect them to an electrical network. In doing so, you can hurt
yourself and damage the craft.
Consider the width of the vehicle.
Always bear in mind that the craft is wider than you might
think. Therefore, it is important to always have enough space
for not damaging the foils. Also, be careful when mooring the
craft, because the foils can hit into the pier or other obstacles
and get damaged or damage the internal parts of the craft.
CAUTION
Any craft, no matter how strong it may be, can be se-
verely damaged if not used properly. This is not compat-
ible. This is not in accordance with the regulations for a
safe boating. Always adjust speed and direction to the
conditions at the sea.

Never use the Q2S for towing.

The Q2S is not designed and meant for towing of anything or
anyone during the ride. Do not attach the craft or tow other
boats, inflatable objects or water-skiers to it.

Design category
The Q2S Electric belongs to the category D – sheltered wa-
ters: It is meant for travelling in sheltered waters on the
coast, in small bays and lakes, rivers, and channels where the
wind force can reach up to 4 (on the Beaufort chart) and very
high waves up to 0.3 m are formed. Occasionally, the waves
which are formed through other crafts that sail by can reach
up to 0.5 m in height.
WARNING
Make sure that the design category of your craft is ap-
propriate for foreseen wind and water conditions, and
that you can control your craft in such conditions.
Category A:
This craft is designed to operate in winds that may exceed
wind force 8 (Beaufort scale) and in significant wave heights
of 4 m and above (see note below), and is largely self-suffi-
cient. Abnormal conditions such as hurricanes are excluded.
Such conditions may be encountered on extended voyages,
for example across oceans, or inshore when unsheltered
from the wind and waves for several hundred nautical miles.
Category C: Electric motor data plate Builder’s plate
This craft is designed to operate in winds up to Beaufort
force 6 and the associated wave heights (significant wave

Bilge pumps
The craft is equipped with an automatic bilge pump which

without always turning it on because it has a built-in delay
function.

Instructions for use:

Set the 3 way switch to Automatic, the pump will run when
necessary. Place fingers over sensor area to check pump is
activated (wait 5 seconds), remove fingers and wait for the
pump to stop (25 seconds). Check pump regularly to ensure
no clogging occurs.

can damage the craft or injure you.

Fasten the crane at the designated places intended for
the lifting with a crane. Never lift the craft with lifting
straps installed under the hull because the craft might
lose its balance, fall and get damaged or injure you.

Performing the pre-ride check
The pre-ride check is an important part of getting your Q2S

drive-ready. We strongly recommend that you perform the
following steps and make sure that the craft is in excellent
shape and safe for driving. Always begin the inspection be-
fore the driving on land and continue the steps in the water
when you are sure that all points are validated.
WARNING
Perform an inspection before each ride to find possible
problems that might occur while driving. Inspections be-

wear and defects before they become serious. Remove
every perceived problem to lower the risk of defects and

In dry environment

the motor and remove the fastening cap of cut-off
switch. Start the craft when you make sure that all the
points are validated.
Before you start, check:
• that the connectors are not damaged, oxidised and are
properly connected;
• that the craft is not damaged;
• that the motor, propellers and motor cables are not dam-
aged and the motor is properly attached;
• that the foils are not damaged and are properly attached;
• that the steering wheel in not damaged and is properly at-
tached;
• that the armband is attached;
• that you have all the necessary safety equipment.

If the connectors are oxidised, you must clean them.
While cleaning the connectors, the craft must always be
turned off – turn off the main switch.
In the water
When the foils and motor are in the upper position, turning is
almost disabled. You can test full turning when the foils and
motor are in the lower position.
Before driving, always check:
• if the foils respond to the steering wheel movement,
• if the motor responds to the steering wheel movement.
WARNING
If the fastening cap of the cut-off switch is not well at-
tached or always falls from the off switch of the motor,
immediately remove the safety cord to ensure a safe
use. Do not use the craft if the motor does not turn off
when the fastening cap of the safety cord is removed
from the off switch of the motor or the START/STOP
button is pressed. Contact your authorised Quadrofoil
dealer.
WARNING
All questions above must be checked and answered with
an affirmative yes before operating the vessel.
NOTE
Upon delivery, the vehicle is not suited for use because
the craft’s battery is empty. Before the first use, it is
necessary to charge the batteries.

Entering the SAFE MODE
SAFE MODE is meant for driving with limited functionality.
This can happen if only one battery is functional and the
power is limited, if the steering wheel screen is broken or in
other similar cases. In SAFE MODE, different driving modes
and all settings are disabled. You can access it whether the
system is turned off or on.
The system is turned off: first, insert the MASTER KEY, then
simultaneously press and hold the ENTER and CANCEL but-
tons for three seconds on any screen. The craft can enter
SAFE MODE in any situation and from any screen. By si-
multaneously pressing and holding the ENTER and CANCEL
buttons for 3 seconds, all current actions are stopped. Then
once again hold the ENTER and CANCEL buttons for three
seconds. A message asking you if you want to enter the SAFE
MODE appears on the screen. If you press YES, you enter the
SAFE MODE, and if you press CANCEL, you return to the pre-
vious screen. If you do not answer the message, you return
to the previous screen in 10 seconds.
In SAFE MODE, the LED light is constantly on (if the LCD
screen is damaged). The speed is limited.

In case of mechanical damages, do not use the craft. Im-
mediately remove the battery and put it in a safe place.
The Q2S Limited Edition has two built-in batteries. At a room
temperature of 20°C, the self-emptying level is 3 percent.
The batteries are built into the craft, which is why they are
charged through a connector on the back of the craft. It is

strictly forbidden to remove them; they can only be removed
by a mechanic in an authorised workshop. It is also forbidden
to use the watercraft if there is visible physical damage on
the batteries, because they might be damaged and an acci-

For charging the batteries, you should only use the charger
provided by the craft’s manufacturer. If you use the wrong
battery charger, this can cause the battery or the charger
overload and consequently lead to fire or some other acci-
dent.
Before every charging, you must ensure that charging is safe
and the possibility of an accident is low. Check if the craft is
firmly tied to the pier or out of the water on the trailer. Check
if there is any damage on the battery charger. In case of dam-
age, charging is forbidden.
Also check if there is any damage on the cable. Feeder and
supply cables must not come in contact with water or be in it.

Inappropriate use of the battery charger, damage to the
battery charger or chargers can seriously injure peo-
ple or damage the craft. Always check that all connec-
tors are dry and not in contact with water, and that the
charger is in a dry place and does not come into contact
with water in any instance.
How to charge?
Charge the batteries in the craft and never remove them.
1) The craft can be turned off or on, with or without armband,
with or without a steering wheel; the important thing is
that the MAIN SWITCH is in the ON position.
2) Connect the charger to the grid (220 V, 50 Hz) and the con-
nector on the craft.
3) If the steering wheel is connected and the craft is not
turned on, the screen shows that the craft is charging as
well as its charging status.
4) While charging, you can also turn on the craft and edit set-
tings, but the functionality is limited.
5) When the craft is charged, this is shown on the driving
wheel. Then turn off the charger.
6) The craft is charged and ready to be used anew.

While charging, any contact with water is forbidden.

Never charge the craft in direct sunlight. Always move
into a shade or an enclosed space and wait for the craft
to cool down.

Battery maintenance
It is important to follow the correct charging procedure, so
that the batteries do not get damaged. Never remove them
out of the craft, because this can only be done in an official

workshop. If the craft is not being used for a longer period of
time, make sure that the craft and the batteries are stored in
a dry environment at room temperature.

NOTE
If you charge the craft only partially (is not charged from
beginning to end), it is recommended to charge it every
third charging for at least five hours for a longer battery
life.

How to keep the Q2S in perfect condition
In sea environment (sun, water, polluted air, sea salt, bird
droppings and other), the Q2S needs special care and has to
be regularly cleaned and appropriately maintained to remain
efficient and in good condition.
Q2S Limited Edition is easy to maintain. Regular mainte-
nance is vital for safe operating of the craft. If the craft is not
maintained according to manufacturer’s plan or recommen-
dation, the latter is not responsible for the sustained damage
in case of an accident.
WARNING
Always properly maintain your Q2S and pay attention to
signs of deterioration which appear in time due to fre-
quent or improper use of the craft.

If the craft is not regularly maintained, driving can be-
come dangerous and an accident could occur.
WARNING
This Reference User Manual does not contain detailed
instructions for maintenance or error removal. In case of
problems, contact the local authorised dealer or Quad-
rofoil Headquarters.
Care before everyday use
It is important that you inspect the craft before each ride and
make sure that everything is as it should be. With this, you
ensure that the vehicle is safe to use.
First, you check that the hull is not mechanically damaged.
If the hull has a hole, water can come through and cause
damage to the craft. There should also not be any visible
damages, such as lesions, larger scratches and other similar
damages, on the hull.
Also, check the motor. There should be no visible damage on
the propeller or on the cables, and the entire motor should be
without damage whatsoever.
You should also check the foils. It is very important that the
foil is not damaged because it can influence driving in case of
mechanical damage. Always clean the foil-attaching needles.
Moreover, check that the steering wheel is not damaged.
Check the connectors, which must be replaced in an author-
ised workshop if damaged. If the connectors are oxidised,
you must clean them.
WARNING
Information in this chapter refers to PRE-RIDE CHECK in
section seven. Before using the Q2S, always go through
the check list before the ride.
Care before everyday use
• After each use, clean the Q2S with freshwater.
• Wash the craft with freshwater, and clean the exterior with
a moist cloth and the interior with a clean dry cloth made
of microfibres.
• Never use a high-pressure cleaner to clean the craft. Use
only low-pressure water jet tools such as garden hoses.
CAUTION
Do not pour freshwater directly onto the steering wheel
or connectors. Also make sure that the jet of water is
gentle and cannot damage the craft or the motor.

tering the right PUK code, you must set a new PIN code. Fol-

must take it to the authorised mechanic to inspect and ensure that it can be safely
operated.

When turning off the armband, the charging of the motor is interrupted; consequently,
the motor turns off and driving with it is disabled. When the armband is connected, the
charging of the motor turns back on and you can continue with the ride.

the hit in case of an accident. In this case, you must take the craft to an authorised
workshop for repairs.
b) If the foils are torn off, you must take the craft to a workshop for check-up and repair.

Decommissioning the product / disposal

Do not dispose of the lithium-ion battery (Quadrofoil Battery
pack) by yourself. Handling and removing the Battery pack
is forbidden. Your authorized Quadrofoil dealer will dispose
of the Quadrofoil Battery in an environmentally compatible
manner and in compliance with the laws and regulations of
the respective country.
Electrical devices like the charger may not be disposed of
with household waste. Electrical devices must be disposed
of through the appropriate recycling centers. Contact your
municipality or your authorized Quadrofoil dealer.
