B. From the following table giving data regarding income of employees in two fac-
tories, draw a Lorenz Curve to show which factory has greater inequalities of in-
come:
2 A. The following table gives the distribution of the total population and those
who are totally or partially blind among them. Find out if there is any relation be-
tween the age and blindness.
Age (Years): 0-10 10-20 20-30 30-40 40-50 50-60 60-70 70-80
Blind: 55 40 40 40 36 22 18. 15
B. An election was held in rural and urban areas and two national parties A and B
are participated in the election. The random sample consists of 50 voters from rur-
al areas of whom 27 voted in favor of party A and 46 voters from urban areas of
whom 19 voted in favor of party A. Examine whether the nature of area is related
to voting preference. (Chi-square at 5% for 1 d.f. =3.841).
3A. The yields of three strains of rice planted in five blocks of three plots under a
completely randomized design are given below. All the fifteen plot are of equal
area. Perform the analysis of variance to test whether the strains are significantly
different with regard to yield.

B. The following data relates to the number of minutes patients had to wait in the
clinic of three doctors:
Doctor A: 15 23 28 22 25 30 35
Doctor B: 18 10 25 23 26 32 34
Doctor C: 40 36 28 21 42 25 10
By using Kruskal-Wallis test, can it be inferred that the samples have come from
identical populations. (Use 0.01 level of significance).
4A. From the following data obtain the regression lines and find the coefficient of
correlation:
X: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Y: 10 9 11 13 12 14 15 17 16

5A. An examination designed to measure the basic intelligence was given. Ran-
dom samples were taken of 20 boys and 20 girls joining as management trainees
in a company. The scores obtained by them out of 50 are given below:
Boys: 29 31 33 35 47 46 40 16 34 24 28
30 37 49 48 46 27 29 48 43
Girls: 36 38 32 34 42 45 39 17 43 47 14 2
13 11 41 42 44 43 27 14
By applying Mann-Whitney U test, determine whether there is a significant differ-
ence in the average intelligence of boys and girls. Use 5% level of significance).
B. Fit the binomial distribution to the following data
x: 0 1 2 3 4 5
f: 10 10 30 25 15 10
