Anantha, Vasuki, Sesha, Padmanabha

and Kambala, Shankapala,
Dhritharashtra, Thakshaka and
Kaliya are the names of nine great
naga (serpent) deities. Whoever
recites this hymn in worship of these
deities, either in the evening or
especially in the morning, his/her
fears are all destroyed, and he/she
emerges victorious in all endeavours.

Description

This is the Nava Naga Stotram or Prayer to the

Nine Serpents. This Navnag (nine serpent)
mantra is also chanted to avoid as well as negate
all kind of ill effects, curses and black magic. It
also negates Naga Dosha, Kala Sarpa Dosha,
Rahu Dosha and Ketu Dosha. Pregnant ladies
can also chant this mantra for the protection of
fetus in the womb for a safe baby delivery.

The names of the 9 Naag Devatas – Anant,

Vasuki, Shesh, Padmanabh, Kambal,
Shankhapal, Dhrutrashtra, Takshak and Kalia –
if prayed daily in the morning will keep one
protected from all evils and helps to become
victorious in life.

The best day to initiate this mantra is on

Purnima or tuesdays or Nag Panchami or any
Panchami Thithis or Amavasya days. Chanting
this mantra 11, 21, 108 or 1008 times will result
in an increase in spiritual powers. Any mantra is
generally recited by facing east direction. Pray
to Goddess Nageswari with Neem leaves.
