8th Grade Career Project

Due on November 30th, 2023


Instructions
● Create a Google Slides document highlighting your chosen career
● Use white background only & use complete sentences

1. Cover Slide- Type the name of your chosen career, your First and Last Name, 2023-
2024, Career Project.
2. Slide 2: Type the name of your career and a description (HINT: A google search will
help) Include a picture of the career choice.
3. Slide 3: - Why have you chosen this career? “The reason why I chose this career is
because “ and type 3 reasons using complete sentences. Include a picture of the career
choice.
4. Slide 4: Planning and Preparation. What planning needs to take place prior to training
or education? Hint: Use google! Examples: Research job opportunities, take SAT’s,
ASVAB’s, request letters of recommendation from teachers, apply for financial aid,
volunteer at an animal shelter, job shadow, complete community service hours, etc.
Include a picture.
5. Slide 5: Education, Training or Experience. Examples: High School Diploma/GED, 2
year Technical College, Associate Degree (2 year degree), Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) ,
Master’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree + 1-3 years), Doctoral Degree (Bachelors + 4-8
years). Examples: Volunteer Work, Trade School (Can begin in high school), 5 year
Apprenticeship, Summer Internship, 1-Year Internship. Include a picture.
6. Slide 6: : Qualifications: Examples: CDL license, pass a vision/hearing test, pass a
drug/alcohol screening, no criminal record, 3 years of volunteer work required prior to
applying, etc. Include a picture.
7. Slide 7: Salary or Hourly Wage. How much does this career pay in Pennsylvania, or the
state of your choice? Does your career choice provide health insurance, dental insurance,
vision insurance, and retirement benefits such as a 401K, 403B? This can be found on
www.salary.com. Include a picture

When finished: Click on “Share” in the upper right corner,
