Fitness of Service for Process Equipment
(API579)
An intensive four(4) to five(5) days courses which will enhance
your knowledge in using API579 fitness of service (FSS) standard
for analysis condition of an existing process equipment where
certain damages in corrosion are detected . In addition, a walk
through session for API 579 is provided for the learners to understand
the whole structure and application of each section and appendix .

Course Learning Outcome
After the training program, leaner will able to perform fully quantitative
analysis for existing process equipment based on API579 FFS with
different corrosion conditions.
Course Content
Learner will learn the following knowledge for assessing damage
conditions of an existing process equipment based on API 579 FFS.
 Types of corrosion damages at process equipment
 Applicability and limitation of each parts 4,5 and 6 of API 579 FFS
 Assessment techniques and acceptance criteria
 Remaining life evaluation
 Remedial action – reduce pressure or temperature.
(Note: trainer can use commercial software like PV Elite or manual
calculation for the course )

based on mechanical engineering principle.

Winson have working experiences in engineering
design, cost estimation, project budget, quality
control and management for static equipment,
structure and machine. He has also had experience
in education and a founder of an engineering
college. Apart from his sale and technical work
experiences at Hexagon, he is also a HRDF certified
trainer who has conducted PV Elite training for
more than 80 companies across SEA since year 2006. “Passion and patient”
are the key values for him to be a good trainer for this field. Trainee will learn
easily and be able to practice what they had learned after the session.
