Greetings,

Thank you all for your attendance in our Math PLC! Our goal last week was to:

Review student work;

Integrate strategies for promoting student engagement in their lesson;
Identify signs of student engagement in essential areas; and
Annotate Eureka Squared lessons.

Your active participation resulted in effectively identifying key shifts in mathematics to incorporate student engagement. We were
able to include best practices such as solving conceptual understanding problems, distinguishing between must-do and could-do
problems, and identifying questions to support students in mastering the lesson.

The PLC was instrumental in incorporating these strategies towards achieving our school-wide goal of integrating student
engagement into the TIER I curriculum. During the following week, please continue to integrate the components into your
annotations and gather evidence from your lesson that showcases the effectiveness of student engagement.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:45-12:42 pm in the PLC Room.

In this meeting, we will integrate best practices, including:

Reading and annotating the standards;

Examining the sequence of lesson objectives; and
Identifying opportunities for student discourse.

You will receive a reminder on Monday. All student work must be completed prior to the meeting. I have attached the
"Student Work Analysis".

Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is any way that I can support you before our meeting next Tuesday.

Please see the attached document titled "Looking for Evidence of Student Engagement" to assist in identifying the essential
components of rigor and developing a comprehensive understanding of the mathematical content standards.

Thank you,

Mrs. Dyson
