The 2nd Edition of Hong Kong Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and 32nd Edition of
The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show commenced from 2nd March 2015 to
8th March 2015 the participation of exhibitors. The said concept enabled the show
to perform at its fullest giving new exhibitors an opportunity to showcase its
products and the existing exhibitors to expand their current scope of business.
The show was divided majorly into two categories viz. Loose Stones & Jewellery.

The 32nd Edition commenced with inaugural of Hong Kong International Diamond,
Gem & Pearl Show commenced on 2nd March 2015 at Asia World Expo (AWE).
The welcoming speech was given by Mr. Benedict Sin, Chairman of the HKTDC
advisory committee. Regina Ip, member of the Legislative Council and Executive
Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government was guest of honour at the opening
ceremony. Regina Ip, member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council
(second from left), and Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC (third
from left), perform an eye-dotting ceremony for the traditional Chinese Lion
Dance.

Additionally, Seven Special Premium Zones viz. ‘Antique & Vintage Jewellery
Galleria; Designer Galleria; Hall of Extraordinary; Hall of Fame; Hall of Jade
Jewellery; Hall of Time and World of Glamour were also created to create ease in
sourcing of quality stones.

This year at Hong Kong March show 2015 was with a record-breaking number of
4,360 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions. Approximately, 76,000 trade
visitors from 140 countries visited the show. Nearly 30,000 buyers visited the
Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show at AsiaWorld-Expo, while over 46,000 visitors
attended the Jewellery Show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

India Pavilion organized by GJEPC was located at 2 different locations catering to
different Indian exhibitors from all categories of gems and jewellery. Indian
Diamond & Gemstone Pavilion was combined located in Hall 9 of Asia World Expo
(AWE) with 50 exhibitors showcasing Loose Diamonds and 49 exhibitors
showcasing Gemstones. Finished Jewellery section under India Pavilion was
located in Hall 5E and Concourse Area of Hall 5E with 58 exhibitors.
A total of 157 exhibitors participated under GJEPC’s India Pavilion occupying 226
stalls.

Bilingual Hostesses at the Council’s promotional booths
Promotional Booths at AWE & HKCEC
GJEPC was provided with promotional booths at AWE as well as HKCEC. Two
hostesses were hired at the respective promotional booths for distributing
exhibitor catalogues of India pavilion, sparkle of success, solitaire, Corporate CD,
VOD show in one bag to the visitors of the show.

At these booth promotion of VOD, IIJS 2015 and other Council’s events would be
promoted. It would also be utilized for the meeting venue with various Intl
organisations

India Pavilion Exhibitors Lounge /Service booth at 5CON 21 & 22 at CEC:

This exhibitor’s lounge has been created for exhibitors services wherein
tea/coffee/refreshments/internet connections, printer etc., would be provided to
the exhibitors.

Meeting with various Important Intl Trade Assn to promote Indian Gem & Jewellery
Exports:

4th Mar 2015 : Indian Embassy Consul General Mr. Bharath Kumar Kuthati,
Deputy Consul General of India, Hong Kong and Mr. Virendra Saxena, Consul-
Commercial visited India Pavilion at AWE on 2nd March 2015. He was escorted by
the GJEPC officials to the booths under India Pavilion. He interacted with the
exhibitors to understand their expectation from the fair. Most of the exhibitors
were found to be engaged in business dealings which according to him were a
very positive indication.
Shri Virendra Saxena, Consul-Commercial visited India Pavilion at HKCEC on was
escorted by the GJEPC officials to booths under India Pavilion. He was able to
interact with couple of exhibitors and found that most of them have done good
business seeing the current market scenario.

4th March Meeting with the Organsers of VICENZAORO Dubai to review &
update with each other on the pending operational issues in relation to VOD
Dubai as the same was required to be addressed immediately. The same was
noted, acknowledged and to be resolved.

5th March : Meeting with Gems & Jewellery Trade Association of China (GAC)
With Queena Liu, Manager – Intl Cooperation Dept to organizer India Pavilion at
China Intl Jewellery Show 2015 to be held in November 2015 at Beijing - China

5th March: Meeting with Ms. Loretta Wan, Director HKTDC to discussed the
overall response to the exhibition, the jewellery business situation in general,
and the fresh initiatives of HKTDC etc. HKTDC also acknowledged and thanked
GJEPC for the support and the progress of our business association in general.

6th March : Meeting with May Wong HKTDC to seek out specific requirements
for the next editions in relation to the India Gallery space and location along with
additional space for the pavilion next year and also to realise our objective in
getting space for the Pavilion together rather than the scattered way.

In the meeting it was also deliberated to simplify the operational aspects in

coordinating with the participants for a smooth functioning.
6th March Meeting with Elsa Leung CEO, & Conser Lee COO from Worldmart
E Company Ltd, who had initially assisted the regional office in Jaipur during the
Panyu Gemstone BSM in January 2015. Using their acquaintances, they were
also coordinating with GAC in getting GJEPC a good location at the Beijing show
in November. A meeting was organised with both of them at the council booth to
update each other on the progress made.

GJEPC’s secretariat also updated them about the meeting with Ms. Queena from
GAC the previous day in relation to the same subject & expecting GAC’s
proposal consequently.

6th March : Meeting with Ms.Lily Zhang, Associate President, of Haiming

International Exhibition Group. They approached GJEPC to organise a pavilion in
their show in Shanghai i.e. Shanghai International Jewellery fair to be held from
August 14 to 17th 2015. Though they have shared the brochure and some
information, we have asked them to share more details about the event for our
review.

6th March: Meeting with Ms. Pena AGM & Ms. Heidi – officer from Hong Kong
Jewellery Manufacturers Association, to organise India Pavilion at n Hong Kong
who organise the November show (26th to 29th November 2015) Since currently
they are booked completely they will try to accommodate our request of at least
10 booths if not 20 for the upcoming edition.

GJEPC team visited their office in Hunghom, to check the space etc., for BSMs

GLIMPES OF THE PROMOTIONS DONE DURING THE SHOW
GJEPC SPONSORED snacks and tea/coffee to the prominent targeted visitors
identified by the Organisers : The snacks and coffee/tea was distributed at the

Oasis near to the India Pavilion as shown in the pics

Coupons were distributed to the visitors to promote the location of India pavilion
similar. Distribution Counter was located adjacent to India Pavilion at Hall no.5E
at CEC Visitors have to come to Hall no. 5 E to redeemed their coupons.

• 300 cups of coffee/tea per day, 1,500 cups in total

• 300 servings of snacks, ie., samosa were served to the visitors
• waiters at the Oasis for serving the buyers with redemption coupons
