Comments on design

1. Calculation of Shear reinforcement for pile is missing. As per our independent calculations,
the shear stirrups in top zone i.e. bar mark 3a is coming out to be Y10@110mm c/c against
provided of Y10@125mm c/c. Contractor may accept it or provide calculations, in case of
difference in opinion.
2. Pile capacity calculated for 6d of socketing i.e. 7.2m. However, initial 300mm from top to be
ignored for socket friction capacity calculations as per IRC-78. Hence the total socket length
of pile in rock should be 7.5m
3. Criteria for ascertaining the start of rock layer at site to be mentioned.

Comments on drawings

1. Location of all test piles should be marked in bridge alignment.

2. Co-ordinates of test piles should be provided in the same drawing.
3. All the other comments are marked in drawings. The same shall be updated in revised
submission.

The test pile submission is approved subject to acceptance of comments given in design and
drawings.
