War on Drugs: Reaction Paper

"6 years is not enough", "You did your job, it's time for you to rest" these lines are what
people always say as the term of Former President Rodrigo "Digong" Roa Duterte has
ended. As we go back in time, we could remember how our Former President promised
that he will make war on drugs happen as early as he will be on seat. On the other
hand, the saddening part of this move is that those innocent people who were killed
without the fair justice. This move is helpful to lessen the illegal drug addiction, illegal
drug use, and illegal drug selling. In contrary of this, the people who were task to do
their jobs only prioritize money and position over justice. Most were innocent from the
crime, officially 6,229 drug personalities have been killed last March 2022.The known
story of a 17-year-old Kian delos Santos who was mercilessly killed by Caloocan cops
in August 2017 was the biggest issue that made question on the effectiveness of this
platform by the former president. Aiming for a better outcome and betterment for the
country is a nationalistic approach, however, if lives will be put at stake is a major
consequence of a mindless and selfish act.

Despite that policemen who were part of this war aims to successfully lessen one of the
major problems here in our country, it cannot deny the fact that some who were part of
this movement did not honestly comply with truthfulness but rather for their own self-
gain. Lives cannot be taken back, and the cry for help and justice has been echoing
over the years remembering how the innocent live were taken for an unstructured
movement.

EDSA Revolution: Reaction Paper

The mark of an unforgettable history is tangible, witness by the past and will be told for
the present. The 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution brought together millions of
Filipinos from all walks of life to march down Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA),
Metro Manila's main thoroughfare, to end President Ferdinand E. Marcos' dictatorship
and usher in a new era of true freedom and democracy. Leading to the Aquino as the
“savior” and leader for a new beginning. As we remember the deeds of Marcos for a
better country, it is marked in the history that he made a very small country the “Tiger of
Asia”, presenting impressive infrastructures, building public hospitals and highways, and
even more. However, the reign of Marcos did not stop as he was said to be forging the
election papers to win the re-election, leading to his presidency be at stake and make
him even questionable for declaring Martial Law when people felt that democracy has
been taken to them, stations for telecommunication was shutdown, time were limited to
go outside, bombing, threatening and killing came into prominence for the innocent lives
of the past generation. These scenes and testimonies has been passed from
generations to generations, making once an excellent former president became the
worst nightmare of the Filipinos.
