Technical competence requirement

Accounting(CTA) 2 yrs Exempt
Initial Test of after gaining
Competence(ITC) After CTA membership
Assessment of Professional
Competence(APC) 2 yrs after ITC Exempt

Permitted 2 attempts at the exam, failure of which one will


be required to complete the CTA program.

The Initial Test of Competence

➢ Made up of 4 broad modules:


1) Financial Accounting & Reporting
2) Management Accounting & Finance
3) Applied Auditing & Governance
4) Taxation

➢ The ITC consist of four papers: Paper 1 to Paper 4.


➢ Total marks are 400, with a minimum of 200 marks (thus
50%) required to pass the ITC.
➢ The overall pass mark of 50% is subject to achieving a sub-
minimum of 40% in at least three of the four papers.
➢ The four papers are written on two consecutive days

Practical experience requirement

➢ Members are expected to satisfy practical


experience requirements for ICAZ, with a period of 24
months with an Approved Training Office(ATO).

➢ May be less than 24 months or none based on the


experience of the applicant.

➢ The period would be based on the competencies


already achieved.

➢ ICAZ’s committee will make a final determination on a


case by case basis.
