INTRODUCTION:
In this project, the primary goal was to engineer a resilient
power supply system adept at transforming a 220V AC input
into a dependable and steady 12V DC output. This was
crucial for sustaining optimal voltage levels, guaranteeing
stability, and ensuring the safe operation of diverse
electronic applications. The design considerations
encompassed factors like efficiency, reliability, and safety to
meet the specific requirements of the intended applications.

COMPONENTS:
Transformer (220V to 12V AC):
Chosen for initial voltage reduction, providing a suitable
input for the subsequent stages.
Bridge Rectifier (W005M):
Employed to convert AC to DC efficiently, ensuring a
unidirectional flow of current.
Capacitor (C1 - 1000uF, 25V):
Integrated to smooth out the DC output, minimizing voltage
ripples.
Voltage Regulator (IC 7812):
Utilized to maintain a constant 12V DC output, offering
precise voltage regulation.
Capacitor (C2 - 1uF, 50V):
Added for additional smoothing, enhancing the stability of
the final output.
CIRCUIT DESIGN & OPERATION :
The power supply operates in a sequential manner: the
transformer reduces the input voltage, the bridge rectifier
converts AC to DC, and the capacitors (C1 and C2) work
together to ensure a smooth and stable DC output. The IC
7812 acts as the final stage, regulating the voltage to the
desired 12V level.

OUTPUT:
Extensive testing was conducted to validate the functionality
and reliability of the power supply. The focus was on the
stability of the 12V DC output under varying loads and input
conditions. The data collected during testing confirmed the
effectiveness of the design in meeting the specified
requirements

CHALLENGES OVERCOME:
During the design and implementation phases, challenges
were encountered and systematically addressed. Issues
such as voltage fluctuations and component compatibility
were identified and resolved, contributing to the overall
success of the project.
CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, the design and implementation of the 220V AC
to 12V DC power supply proved successful in providing a
stable and reliable voltage source. This power supply holds
significance in ensuring the proper functioning of electronic
systems requiring a consistent 12V DC input. The project's
success underscores the importance of thoughtful
component selection, rigorous testing, and a systematic
approach to addressing challenges in power supply design.
