Direct & Indirect Anterior Restoration

“Elevate Your Artistry with Harmonize™”. In this full day lecture & workshop, Dr Goon will review the latest
advancement in composite restoration, the criteria of a good handling composite and the technology
used in the Kerr bonding system. Dr Goon will also reveal some of the golden rules of aesthetic from
various research during the lecture. In our daily practice, we might have patient walk in with
traumatized anterior teeth, either with uncomplicated fractured without pulpa exposure, or
complicated fractured with pulpal involvement. During the first hands-on, participants will learn how to
do mock-up with composite, fabricating a jig and restore the fracture incisor with Harmonize™ by
implementing polychromatic layering technique and characteristic staining. Dr Goon will share the
direct restoration technique by using Harmonize™, a revolutionary universal composite with Adaptive
Response Technology makes achieving lifelike restorations easier than ever before. The technology also
enables better blending capabilities and enhanced structural integrity, providing your restorations with
exceptional strength and unmatched aesthetics.
Patients nowadays are more concerned about their esthetic appearance, due to highly involvement in
social media. Veneering become an option for patient with minimum preparation on the tooth, and
direct composite veneer is a simple and economical choice. Participants will learn how to perform a
direct composite veneer with good finishing which can last many years. In addition, indirect veneer also
will be discussed during the workshop
 Speaker’s Profile, Dr Goon Yong Por BDS(Mal)

Dr. Goon received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Malaya in 1998. In 2005,
he was awarded both the Fellowship of International College of Dentists and Fellowship of
Academy of Dentistry International. He also obtained a Certificate of Oral Implantology from
the University of Frankfurt in 2009 and a Certificate of Oral Implantology from the University of
Michigan in 2014.

Dr. Goon is the founder and principal director of Union Dental Surgery Group, which was
established in 1999 and remains one of the leading dental groups in Northern Zone Malaysia. He
was also the past-chairman of Malaysia Dental Association Northern Zone from 2012-2014.

Dr. Goon is a Key Opinion Leader for Kerr and has presented several lectures and workshops in
Malaysia and Southeast Asia since 2010.

In addition to dentistry, Dr. Goon enjoys painting and is passionate about organizing art exhibits.
He is currently the President of Penang Balik Pulau Art Society.
