Social media during the Pandemic

Social networks have been present for years and have facilitated remote communication,

but to what extent have they exceeded the limits of their use? During the pandemic they

facilitated virtual contact, but the pandemic marked a before and after in the interaction of

people.

The emergence of the internet represented universal access to information and in the same

way, social networks became a space to share personal information within the reach of a

click. The interesting thing happened when these online sites, as a result of the covid-19

pandemic, social networks became the only means of communication and entertainment.

As a consequence, people began to share all their daily activities and at all times, becoming

a kind of "influencers" for people who knew them.

However, these tools are not new, but their use had a disproportionate increase, in fact, it

represents a change in social relationships, which in the future can generate consequences

in the creation of friendships, or interaction between people, because virtuality cannot be

compared in any way to reality and factors external to the internet.

Overall, communication has changed, which means that in this context, people have to

learn to handle both new information technologies and interpersonal social relationships,

communicating opens the doors to the outside world and its development opportunities.

Currently you cannot imagine an isolated life without the internet.
