Halloween in Dholakpur : Co-read the story
Bheem's friend Peter had come to visit him on the eve of Halloween. He
told Bheem and his friends the story and the traditions of Halloween.
Peter said, “In America, we wear costumes to scare away evil spirits. We
go to houses in our neighbourhood and ask for candies by saying ‘trick or
treat!’ We get a lot of candies in our candy-bucket."
Bheem was very interested and asked, “Why don't we celebrate

Halloween in Dholakpur this year with a party?” Everyone was excited,
and they even made their own costumes.
The next day all the kids wore their scary costumes. Bheem cut a square in
one of his old black clothes, to make a vampire cape. Chhutki did her own
makeup to look like a witch with a broom. Jaggu helped Raju by
wrapping him around in a long cloth to make him a mummy. Kalia
dressed himself like a Jack-o-lantern. Jaggu wore a white piece of cloth
with two holes for eyes and became ghost. Dholu-Bholu made their
skeleton costumes.
The next day, the children went trick or treating in the village. All the kids
explained who they were and how they had made their costumes.
Once everyone had collected buckets full of candies, and they went to
the Halloween party at the palace. In the end, Bheem and his friends
were tired, but had a great time. Everyone shouted happily, “Happy
Halloween!”
