1. What are your roles in your community or organization?

-My role in the community is I’ve been a member or adviser at an organization like GPT at
Batasan. I’m also an adviser of “Central ng mga Kababaihan”.

2. How long have you served in your community or organization as a barangay secretary?

-I started at the barangay 18 years ago as a student leader. I started working at the government in 2005,
almost all the positions at the barangay I already encountered. I started as a barangay secretary way
back in 2013, before that I was a barangay administrator up to the present.

3. What is the main reason why you served in your community or organization?

-Because I live here and grew up here, I already saw a lot of different fights here in Batasan specially
gang wars and because of that they called Batasan as “Little Tondo ng Batasan Hills”. Now you can see
that a lot of things are changed because we sacrifice our blood, sweat, and tears (Dugo’t pawis tama ba
english ko? Kung mali palitan mo na lang hahaha) just to have a peaceful community.

1. What challenges that your community or organization facing?

-Drugs

1.1 How long has this been a problem?

-2 to 3 years. (2 years ago, we have 1,400 surrenderers. We also Inhabilitate the family of the Drug user.)
(Until now It’s our problem, but hopefully it is one of the awards we are receiving from PDEA, Barangay
Batasan Hills is the first in District II that will receive “Drug cleared Baranggay” means cleared na sa
oplan tokhang pero hindi pa drug free.)

1.2 What other information or data provides information about these needs or problems?

-We have our own data, RBI (Registry of Barangay Inhabitance) it’s our privacy that we don’t share even
if you’re a Police officer or Police Chief Master Sergeant as long as you don’t have an authorization
paper. (specially ito ay privacy act mabigat ito kaya hindi ganun kadali ibigay ang mga information ng
ganon lang.)

(RBI Centalized dito malalaman lahat ng records mo, lalo kapag kumuha ka ng clearance mo malalaman
namin kung may record ka sa drugs, business mo, or kaso sa school.)

2. What are your ways of solving the problems of your community or organization?

-Every day Monitoring (parang attendance na pinipirmahan)

-Every month Drug test

-We also help them to have a job (para sa mga gustong mag bago)
2.1 How do you evaluate the effectiveness of your programs for the community or organization?

-Job offerings at MRT 7 (nakipag partnership sa the mrt management dahil kasama rin sila sa
minemention ng national government na tumulong para sa rehabilitaion ng mga gusto ng mag bago.)

-Activities “Kamustahan for Drug surrenderers” Boodle Fight for Drug Surrenderers” and “ Yearly
celebrating christmast with Drug Surrenderers”

(Una Kung hindi gagawin yon paulit ulit na lang din kase gagawin, kung hindi sila bibigyan ng chance sino
na lang ang tatanggap sakanila? sino pa yung mag titiwala sakanila? ayon yung long term solution na
naiisip ng baranggay pangalawa lahat ng mga kailangan nila sa baranggay like clearances libre pati sa
family nila lahat ng ayuda ay kasama ang mga drug surrenderers.)

-We make sure that they have an data based for drug surrenderers that only the barangay can access.

(Nakita narin kase namin yung positivity na walang mangyayare kung after isurrender sila, mamamatay
lang sila, babalik lang sila sa dati nilang bisyo, kaya ginawa namin ay gumawa kami ng sarili nilang data
based na kame lang ang nakaka access kaya the people didn’t know na ayong tao na yon for exaample is
nag uunder go for rehabilitation para hindi ma descriminate.)
