LISTENING SECTION

In this part of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand spoken
English. There are four parts to this section with special direction for each part

Part I
Questions 1 to 3
Directions:
In this part of the test, you will hear some dialogues or questions spoken English. The
dialogues and the questions will be spoken twice. They will not be printed in your test book,
so you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers say. After you hear a dialogue
and the question about it, read the five possible answers, and decided which one would be the
best answer to the question you have heard.
Now listen to a sample question.
You will hear :
Man : How about exercising tomorrow morning?
Woman : Alright, pick me up at six
You also hear :
Narrator : What will the man do?
A. Do exercise at 6
B. Go with six women
C. Take exercise alone
D. Leave the women alone
E. Come to the woman’s house
Narrator : the best answer to the question is “ what will the man do?” is come to the
woman, “ therefore you should choose answer (E)

followed by four responses, also spoken in English. The questions and responses will be
spoken two times. They will not be printed on your test book, so you must listen carefully to
understand what the speakers say. You have to choose the best response to each question or
statement.

Now listen to a sample question:

Man : I’ve got bad news about my test

Woman : What? You failed again

Directions:
In this part of the test, you will hear some dialogues or monologues spoken in English. The
dialogues or monologues will be spoken twice. They will not be printed on your test book, so
you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers are saying. After you listen to the
dialogue or monolog, look at the five pictures provided in your test book, and decide which
one would be the most suitable with dialogue or monolog you have heard.
Mira lesmana is an Indonesian songwriter, film director and producer born on 8 august 1964.
7. She is a daughter of musician, Jack Lesmana and a sister to a jazz pianist, Indra Lesmana. She
had already written her first song when she was 16 years old. She alsdo has been interested in
film since she was in Australia with her family. She has been doing a lot of film work, writing
songs, directing a documentary serial and producing succesful films since returning to
Indonesia and graduating from Jakarta Art Institute.

I’ve always wanted to be a singer, so if I won the lottery, i’d become a famous pop star. I’d pay someone to write
really good songs for me, I’d record a CD and then a fantastic video. I’d love to have a number One single and be on
lots of TV pragrammes. Then, I think I’d start a record company and help other people to record their music.

Part IV
Questions 9 to 10
Directions:
In this part of the test you will hear several monologs. Each monolog will be spoken two
times. So you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers say. After you hear a
monolog or the question about it, read the five possible answer to the questions you have
heard.

If we don’t protect Antartica from tourism. There will be serious


consequences for us all. For example, we might lose the result of scientist
research projects and some fragile plants and animals can die or dissapear
forever if we don’t protect Antartica from tourism. If they dissapear forever
this may damage the balance of animal and plant life in Antartica. We know
from experience that if things get unbalanced, harmful changes could occur.
