ASSESS THE UTILIZATION OF LONG TERM FAMILLY PLANNING METHOD
AMONG WOMEN HEALTH WORKERS AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN AKAKI
KALITY SUB CITY ADDIS ABABA 2024

 Rationale of the study


This study will conduct the utilization of long term family planning methods in women
health workers.

Globally, modern family planning prevents 100 million unwanted pregnancies, 50 million
abortions and 3 million maternal and child death (1, 2). of Ethiopia health sectors
transformation plan. Fulfilling the target of using modern family planning methods is not
only the achievement of one strategy where as it is getting the target of minimizing
unwanted pregnancies , abortions, neonatal, maternal and infant mortality reduction(1).

One study stated long term family planning method use prevent 20%-35% of all maternal
and child deaths (2 , 3). However, as previous study showed that the percentage of modern
family planning in reproductive age group 15-49 years was very low 35% which include
urban areas(3).

 Significance of the study

So i will conduct this study the utilization of long term family planning methods among
women health workers at public health center in AKAKI KALITY SUB CITY ADDIS ABABA in
2024. By investigating associated factors such as socio economic status, attitude,
knowledge, and accessibility the research intends to provide insights in to the determinants
influencing family planning choices with in this specific demographic. The health workers
attitude to use long-term family planning methods is very important for the utilization of
family planning methods for the overall community and increment of percentage.

This analysis contributes to a better understanding of factors shaping family planning


decisions among women health workers, facilitating targeted interventions and policy
recommendations for improving reproductive health outcomes.

ASSESEMENT OF ANTI HYPERTENSIV TREATEMENT ADDEHERANS
AMONG ADULT HYPERTENTION PATIENT AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN
ADDIS ABEBA AKAKI KALITI SUB CITY 2024
 Rationale of the study
This study will focus on treatment addeherans of anti-hypertensive drug in adult
hypertensive patients.

Globally, WHO stated that “an estimated 1.28 billion adults age 30-79 years worldwide have
hypertension” (4). Hypertension additionally major cause of premature death (4). Treatment
adherence can prevent major complications like cardiovascular diseases, kidney failure and
stroke (5).

Additionally, world health organization stated most (tow-third) livings in low and middle
income countries have the disease (4). An estimated 46% with hypertension are unaware
that they have the disease. Less than half of adults (42%) with hypertension are diagnosed
and treated (4, 5).

Significance of the study


The purpose of this study will to found out the relation between anti-hypertensive
treatment adherence and socioeconomic, pill burden, and patient awareness There are
many studies on the anti-hypertensive treatment adherence but they are not addressed
this issues, about the socioeconomic and pill burden. The study’s may will provide
suggestions for prevention of hypertension complication such us, cardiovascular
disease among adult hypertension patients, as well as prevent hospitalization and
burden on family, community. Guide line maker and other stockholder to focus on the
socioeconomic problem, knowledge gap and how to decrease pill burden. In addition
awareness is given to patients about fear of pill burden to adhere their treatment.

Furthermore, the result of this study will provide good information for other
researcher to conduct additional investigation on the problem. The study’s finding was
provided suggestion for prevention of hypertension complication like cardiovascular
diseases among adult’s hypertension patients.

ASSESSEMENT OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING PRACTISE AND ASSOCIATED
FACTORS AMONG LACTATING MOTHERS AT PUBLIC HEALTH CENTERS IN
AKAKI KALITY, ADDIS ABABA, IN 2024

 Rationale of the study


The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends “mothers worldwide to
exclusively breastfeed infants for the child’s first six months to achieve optimal
growth, development, and health”(6). Even though appropriate feeding practice is
the most cost-effective intervention to reduce child morbidity and mortality,
exclusive breastfeeding practices in developing countries are still low (7).

 Significance of the study


This study will conduct exclusive breastfeeding practices and associated factors
among lactating mothers are having their own effect on multiple reasons. Firstly, it
provides insights into the prevalence and patterns of exclusive breastfeeding within
a specific population, aiding in the identification of potential challenges or gaps in
adherence to recommended practices.
By assessing associated factors, such as maternal knowledge, socio-economic status,
and healthcare support. This information is crucial for designing targeted
interventions and educational programs aimed at promoting and sustaining exclusive
breastfeeding practices.
The study's findings can contribute to public health initiatives, helping policymakers
and healthcare professionals implement strategies to enhance exclusive
breastfeeding rates. As exclusive breastfeeding plays a vital role in infant health and
development, understanding the factors that influence this practice is essential for
improving maternal and child health outcomes.
