MINUTES OF MEETING
May 14, 2023
BP Ouwelant Hall, 3rd Flr, Cathedral Rectory

I. Preliminaries

 The meeting was called to order at 6:45pm, followed by the opening prayer led by
Rev. Fr. Denish Ilogon, DCS.
 Roll call of attendees: 18 present, 6 absent, and 3 other attendees.
 Rev. Fr. Denish Ilogon then delivered his welcome remarks.

II. Meeting Proper

 Induction of new set of officers of the Parish Music Ministry to be held on March 19,
2023, during the 6:30am Sunday mass. Candles will be provided by the rectory.

 All members of the choir groups of the cathedral will undergo a revitalization and
on-going formation on April, date to be announced later. This will be followed by
Commissioning as members of the Parish Music Ministry by late April or early May.

 The body unanimously elected Bro. Domingo Esperanza, Jr. as Auditor to complete
the set of officers for the term 2023 – 2025.

 Plotting of schedules for the Holy Week activities, were as follows:

 Sis. Ponciana Clerigo then shared her thoughts on what direction the music ministry
should take, being an important part of the worship ministry. She also stated that
music is an integral and vibrant part of the mass, it enhances the depth of our
prayer, and it leads the gathered assembly into a deeper faith experience.
  On music ministry funds, Dr. Bliss inquired if there is a separate account from the
general fund. Fr. Denish replied that he will look into it.

 On the sound system of the cathedral, Dr. Bliss shared her observation about the
poor quality of the sound system especially the microphones. Fr. Denish responded
that he is currently communicating with a sound engineer from Cebu to improve the
quality of the sound system.

 On monthly meetings, the body agreed that it shall be held every 2 nd Monday of the
month. Fr. Denish promised that he will give full support to the music ministry and
will provide for dinner or snacks during meetings.

 Fr. Denish then requested the body to come-up with a line-up of activities (Action
Plan) of the music ministry for the whole year, which include among others bonding,
education/enhancement training, etc.

 For the Chrism Mass:

 Trainer will be Sir Junville Elisan, to be assisted by Harmon.
 First practice will be on Friday, March 17, 2023, @ 6pm, at Bp. Ouwelant Hall.
Succeeding practice will be every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, same time
and venue. Fr. Denish pledged for snacks and dinner (if needed), and vehicle
for participants in going home (priority to senior citizens and from far barangays)

 The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm. Fr. Denish led the closing prayer, and
further gave his final blessings.
