CSI Linux - Capturing Video Evidence

There are times you may come across video evidence that the Person of Interest may be
broadcasting or storing on a site. If this is the case, here are some options that will help you
capture that evidence. Tip: Sometimes you may have to look at the source code of a website
to retrieve the video link. In many browsers, you can either right-click and "view source" or
press the F12 key. In Chrome, you will see something like this: If you are looking for video
streams within the HTML, you will need to go to the "Network" tab and filter for "m3u8" or
"ts". Once you locate one, right-click on it and save the link. Now you can use tools to start
capturing the video. Links inside the file in order: live-hls-web-aje.getaj.net/AJE/index.m3u8
