CURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES (ECA)
SUIS-Gubei 2023-2024
Block A (Weeks 2-10)
Block A ECA sign-
ups (Week 2-10)
Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) allow students the opportunity to learn
and develop transferrable skills outside of the classroom. They are
significant to the IBDP's CAS programme and have a big impact on
university applications via the personal statement. ECAs are
mandatory for all students and important to the school’s ethos.

The ECA sign-up system operates on a first-come-first-serve basis. If any

ECAs reach their maximum capacity, they will no longer be available
for sign-ups. Therefore, it's recommended to have a backup ECA
option prepared. Please note that each student can only utilize the
system once, so it's crucial to make your selections thoughtfully. Once
the choices are submitted, they will be processed promptly. It's
important to be aware that students won't have the opportunity to
modify their chosen option for the duration of this block. The school will
run another ECA fair and another sign-up system for Block B in the
Winter.
Be ready to sign-up!
The ECA sign-up system for Block A (Weeks 2-10) will go
live on Friday, 1 September at 6:00 pm and can be
accessed by the QR code or
https://jinshuju.net/f/zIptG
Proposing an ECA
Any students who wish to propose an ECA must fill in a
“student club proposal” form and submit it to the
Vice Principal. If the activity is approved the new ECA
leader must create a one-page PPT information
slide so that it can be advertised before the next round of
sign-ups. ECAs that do not reach a minimum
number of participants are unlikely to proceed.
The success of an ECA activity depends largely on the
number of participants, its alignment with the
school’s ethos, and the advantage it could bring to a
student’s university application. All ECAs are
evaluated from this perspective
Art Portfolio Process
The Art Portfolio Process will assist you in honing your
artistic abilities and developing a portfolio tailored to
the medium of your choice. You can learn new creative
techniques that are tailored to your portfolio's goals
while also developing layout and reflection skills.
