Practical 2

Preparation of Eggy Bread Finger (for picky eater or kids with poor weight gain) (Group 6)
Ingredients:

1 medium egg

2 scoop Pediasure

15 g butter

2 slices of white bread


Preparation method:

1.) In a bowl, whisk egg and milk powder


2.) Remove the crust from bread. Soak the bread in the egg mixture
3.) On a non-stick pan, melt the butter. Cook the soaked bread for about 2 minutes on each side,
until the bread is golden in colour
4.) Once cooked, cut it into small pieces and serve to kids

Chocolate Orange Oatmeal Cookies (Group 6)
Ingredients:

A:

5 scoops of Nutren Diabetic powder

150 g butter at room temperature

15 g granulated sugar

20 g brown sugar

Zest of 1 orange

B:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup whole-wheat flour (if not available, may replace with ½ cup all purpose flour)

¾ tsp baking soda

1 ½ cup rolled oats


Preparation Method:

1.) Preheat the oven to 150°


2.) Mix A in a large bowl using a mixer on medium speed until creamy
3.) In a separate bowl, combine B except for the rolled oats
4.) Slowly incorporate B mixture into A
5.) After everything is mixed together well, mix in oats, ½ cup at a time
6.) Once mixed well, place a baking sheet on a baking tray
7.) On the baking sheet, place heaping 1 tsp balls of dough with some space between each balls.
8.) Use a fork to mash the batter down until ½ inch high
9.) Bake for 15 minutes, take them out from the oven and let them cool
