The Fish and the Crocodile

Once, there lived a very kind and friendly crocodile in a river. In this river, there
were also many fish. They liked to swim around but they were not friendly and never
listened to anyone. The crocodile was worried that the fish would have a problem later.

One afternoon, while the crocodile was sleeping near the river, it heard some men
talking. They stopped by to drink. While drinking, one of them said, “Look! This river
has got many fish. Let’s come here again tomorrow with our fishing net,” The crocodile
heard them. He got worried and went straight to the fish and told them to leave when it
was still dark. “They’re going to catch you with a net,” said the crocodile. “There’ve
been many men who have tried to catch us. They are not going to catch us this time,”
the fish said while swimming away.

The next morning, the men came and threw their big and strong net into the river.
All the fish were caught. The crocodile could not help them. The fish cried for not
listening to the crocodile as they were taken by the men.
