CALL FOR JUNIOR ASSOCIATE & LEGAL RESEARCHER

AT LAW OFFICE OF MS. SHOMONA KHANNA, ADVOCATE,


NEW DELHI

The Law Office of Shomona Khanna, Advocate, is looking for a full-time Junior Associate & Legal
Researcher to assist in ongoing litigation, legal trainings, conduct legal research, and provide case
support on the rights of Adivasis, forests rights laws, land rights and environmental laws in India.

The responsibilities of the Junior Associate and Legal Researcher will include the following:
1) Drafting of opinions, petitions and pleadings for ongoing litigation in Supreme Court of India,
Delhi High Court, and other Courts and Tribunals in Delhi;
2) Providing assistance in conducting legal trainings, workshops and meetings with lawyers and
social workers;
3) Legal research and documentation for legal trainings, workshops and meetings;
4) Assistance in issue-based legal research;
5) Monitoring of legal developments relating to forest rights and Adivasi rights.

Duration: 1 year (full-time) including a probation period of 4 months.


Location: Delhi
Remuneration: will be commensurate with experience of the candidate.

Criteria
• LLB graduates, with one year work experience in the field of human rights law, constitutional
law and environmental law.
• Must be registered with a State Bar Council.
• Proficient in legal research and analysis.
• Interested in Indigenous Peoples’ rights, human rights, forest rights,
• environmental laws, forest and biodiversity conservation laws.
• Capable of working independently and within time-bound deadlines.
• Should be proficient in English and Hindi. Additional knowledge of regional language will be
an asset.
• Should be willing to travel to various states.

thereafter.
