2. INTRODUCTION
This document is a guide to help you to solve known problems around the Wall Board Manager
(WBM).

3. WBM DOES NOT RUN


Symptom
• When the WBM application starts, the An unsupported operation has been
attempted message box appears.
Solution
• It could be an ocx problem (LedSign.ocx).
How to proceed?
1 Using MS Explorer, go onto c:\Program Files\Alcatel\A4400 CCWallBoard
Here you can see the file LedSign.ocx.
2 Using windows menu: Start and then Run, you type this command:
Regsvr32 c:\Program files\ Alcatel\A4400 CCWallBoard\LedSign.ocx
The WBM application should run.

4. BLANK ON THE WALL BOARD DISPLAY


Symptom
• The display works fine, and after a while the display is blank, then it works again and so on

Solution
• You should to check the configuration in the "Sequence Builder" window. Look at the
following snap shot:
♦ In the "Sequencer Builder" window there are two examples a good one and a bad one:
the "WB1" line 1 is good,
the "WB1" line 2 is bad. Why? Because the display will be blank during 10 s (5 s
before the display and 5 s after it).
♦ The "Time Line Builder" window indicates when during the day the sequences will be
displayed (in the example the display starts at 08AM and stops at 06PM).

5. CRASH ON WBM
Symptom
• If the WBM crashes everyday as in the following screen shot:

It is likely, the WBM crashes because the sequence (see the "Time Line Builder" window) stops exactly
at the same time when the message (see the "message builder" window) starts.
Solution
• Instead of starting the message at the same time as the end of the sequence, start it 1 second
after (for instance, start the message at 18:00:01).
