NEW POLICY For The Online Basic Course On Occupational Medicine - PARTICIPANTS
Those interested BCOM participants should dedicate and commit a one hundred percent
(100%) attendance during the whole course of the training. Make necessary arrangements
of your schedule to ensure compliance of the requirements.
This on-line training shall be recorded during the entire session and all information collected
will be intended for training purposes, documentation, and compliance to the DOLE
Occupational Safety and Health Center guidelines.
A. HARDWARE/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE/CONNECTIVITY/APPEARANCE
1. Laptop/ Desktop is required. No mobile phone or tablet allowed.
2. Compatible Headset/microphone/speakers
3. Stable internet connectivity of not less than 5mbps. Check your internet speed
thru any speed test application
4. Ensure that you have a word processing (such as Microsoft Word), spreadsheet
(such as Microsoft Excel) and presentation (such as Microsoft PowerPoint)
viewing/editing program
5. Virtual backgrounds even blurring are not allowed
6. Wear appropriate professional clothing preferably smart casual
B. PROCESS GUIDELINES
1. PCOM’s platform for this online training is ZOOM. It is a requirement that you
learn first how to use this platform before enrolling in this training. Difficulty in
using this ZOOM platform can cause delay for the training team and loss of precious
learning time for your co-participants. You may assign an assistant on your end to
handle your ZOOM issues during the course.
If you opt to have a double set-up of your online equipment, kindly label the other
unit as “backup” then your name so as not to confuse the training team.
2. Please follow the following format on your name on the screen; class number –
Complete Name (example: 05- Dela Cruz, Juan MD/DMD); Class Number will be
provided via email.
Please ensure to always have with you your PRC ID. The ID must be shown on the
screen when prompted while checking the attendance to verify your identity.
Keep your ZOOM ID and password confidential and must notify the PCOM
secretariat immediately of any unauthorized use of the given ZOOM ID and
password. Proxy participants are strictly prohibited.
3. All cameras must be turned-on all throughout the sessions, the whole face of the
participant must be visible at all times. Refrain from being away from the camera
while the sessions are ongoing. Still photos are not allowed. Specified breaks shall be
provided to all. This training requires your full attention in all sessions.
a.1. Whenever the monitoring team notices your inattention, or you are missing in
the video, you shall be notified thru the chatbox. Failure to respond within 5
minutes or 3 attempts from the monitoring team to reach you, you shall be
removed from the main virtual classroom and be transferred to the waiting
room.
b. During the Question & Answer sessions, 5-10 mins open forum for Q and A are
allotted after every lecture to make way for clarifications whenever necessary.
5. LOG on time. Registration on the first day shall start from 6:30am-7:00am.
Training Days 2-8 shall start at exactly 8:00 A.M. and shall end around 5:15 P.M.
with breaks in between. Please log-in as early as 7:00 A.M. to prevent data traffic.
Be on time coming back to the session after every scheduled break. Logging in late
and failure to attend the training altogether without prior notice will mean forfeiture
of your slot
* In case of an internet connectivity interruption and the participant cannot return
to the session, kindly text/call the PCOM secretariat [(09176276246 (GLOBE)]
immediately for further instructions.
6. Completion of Training
Pre-Test
All participants are required to take the pretest examination on the first day where a
link shall be posted on the zoom chatbox. The test shall start at exactly 7:30 am and
shall be completed by exactly 8:00 am.
Daily Quiz
At the end of each training day after the last lecture, a link will be posted on the zoom
chatbox for the daily quiz (10 questions to be answered in 15 mins). Failure to take
the quiz would mean a missed day of the training.
Post-Test
All participants are required to pass the posttest examination on Day 8 or the last day
to be able to receive the certificate of completion where a link shall be posted on the
zoom chatbox. The test shall start at exactly 5:15 pm and shall be completed by 5:45
pm. Only those successful examinees who were able to comply with the required
number of attendances shall be included in the commencement ceremony.
*A participant who fails the post test will take the remedial examination. Failure shall
mean that the participant must re-take the post test on the next scheduled training to
be able to get his/her certificate of completion.
Breakdown of Scores:
Any absence/s incurred by the participant during the eight (8) days training will
be deliberated by the BCOM Subcommittee to determine what sanction/s to be
implemented after submission of the reason of absence.
Evaluation Forms
All participants are required to accomplish the Speaker Evaluation Forms and Course
Evaluation. The links shall be posted on the zoom chatbox.
7. ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION
Certificates shall be made available for pick up thru the Secretariat office or thru
registered mail.
Participants located in NCR who wishes to get their certificates personally may pick
up their certificates of completion at least 5 working days after the last day of the
training at the PCOM Office.
Presentation of at least one (1) valid ID is required to claim the certificate. In case
of a representative, a duly signed authorization letter and a photocopy of the
participant’s valid ID shall be required for the release of the certificate.
BCOM certificate is valid for life. Requests due to loss or damage of their
certificates shall be replaced by a certification with the current PCOM National
Officer’s signatories upon validation.
8. DATA PRIVACY
PCOM complies with all relevant laws on privacy and Data Protection Act, and shall
collect, process, retain, and store personal data in accordance with the provisions of
Republic Act 10173 - Data Privacy Act of 2012.
PCOM shall be recording the whole duration of the training, including the webcam
display of the participants.
We shall only collect data or process personal information for specific and lawful
purposes needed for the training.
PCOM shall not collect more than what is needed or keep it longer than necessary
and safeguard
it as strict as possible.
1. Fees for this course shall be decided upon by the PCOM National Board as
recommended by the BCOM SubCommittee/Training Team.
2. Decide well before reserving and paying for a training slot in BCOM. Your reserved
and paid slot is a guarantee of your inclusion in the BCOM.
3. PCOM does not refund the full amount of training fee.
4. Instance/s where PCOM may consider a 50% refund to you:
a. Force Majeure
b. Dreaded disease
c. Other reasons validated and approved by the BCOM SubCommittee
5. Backing-out from the training shall be allowed only with the following requirements:
a. The request to back-out is 5 days before the 1st day of your scheduled
BCOM
b. The participant(You) finds a replacement MD/DMD in your behalf
c. The request to re-schedule your attendance on the next BCOM conduct is
made 5 days before the 1st day of your scheduled BCOM
6. Backing-out less than 5 days before the actual conduct of your scheduled BCOM
shall mean forfeiture of your registration fees.
7. Your reserved and paid training slot is very important. Ensure that you follow these
guidelines.
