Indian Railways – Structure – Zonal, Divisional, RPF & GRP; GRP, its constitution, investigative powers- Jurisdiction – GRP Manual – Railway courts; Over view of different crimes & laws related to Railway Crimes, Smuggling, Chain pulling, Theft, Robbery, dacoity, drugging, Arson, Sabotage etc.; Drafting of FIR in different cases (Robbery etc), DO’s and Don’ts; Scene of crime and difficulties in collecting evidences, forensic techniques used in investigation; Various problems of investigation – Issue of Place of occurrence (PO) Visit to the SOC etc; Investigation of Railway Accident – Case study, Investigation of Mass demonstration (Rail Roko) Dharna Cases with case studies; Investigation of dead bodies on Railway tracks – Standard Operating Procedure; Godhra Incident – Case study; Theory on Handling, Labeling and Packing of Exhibits. Preparation of Letter of Advice; Practical Exercise on Handling, Lifting, Packing, Labeling and forwarding of the evidences; RPF Act 1989, RPUP Act 1966 and Railways Act 1989; RPF and GRP and Local Police – Co-operation and Co-ordination in their work; Visit to GRP and RPF Police Stations; Case Studies etc.
