CHAPTER: I’m Building a Rocket
TOPIC: Creating a gadget

Introduction:
Nowadays, children are exposed to so many fancy electronic gadgets that they are fond of or
wish to buy.This project will make children choose their favourite gadget and they will write
about the details of the gadget as guided by the teacher.

Objectives:

• To understand the importance of technology and innovation.

• To analyse and choose from a range of gadgets.
• To decide, whether the gadget will help in their mental development or no.

Material Required:
1. A4 Sheet
2. crayons
3. pencils
4. sketch pens
5. colourful papers, ribbons, sequences etc (for decoration).

Description:
1. The students will think and create a list of various gadgets that excite them and
choose one out of them.
Note- The students are free to choose more than one gadget too.

2. The students will draw or create the gadget.

3. The students will write about the gadget in the following order.
a. Name of the gadget
b. Features of the gadget
c. Model number or series number of the gadget
d. Who invented the gadget?
e. When was the gadget invented?
f. Merits and Demerits of using the gadget.
g. Why do you love the gadget?
 4. The students can use a chart paper, A4 sheet or thermocol sheet to present their
project work.
5. If students are using a thermocol to create their gadget, then write the
specifications of your gadget on a separate A4 sheet of paper.

Conclusion: The students will learn about the gadget in detail and will be able to decide
whether the use of the gadget will be helpful in their growth and development or no.
