FACULTY POSITION IN NATIVE AMERICAN POLICY & ADMINISTRATION The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico is seeking a tenure-track Faculty member with a research and teaching specialization in Native American Policy and Administration, to begin Fall Term 2012. Rank is open The successful candidate will develop and teach in the Native American Policy and Administration concentration in the Master of Public Administration program, as well as in the MPA core curriculum. The candidate must have completed a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Political Science, or closely-related social science discipline at the time of appointment; applicants with a Juris Doctor degree and a demonstrated record of scholarship, teaching, and service related to Native American policy and administration will also be considered. Appointment rank is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Candidates for senior ranks (Associate or Full Professor) must have a distinguished record of scholarship and peer-reviewed publication as well as significant teaching experience. Expected record is commensurate with that at leading, researchintensive universities. Candidates for a junior rank appointment (Assistant Professor) must demonstrate significant potential for scholarly research and peer-reviewed publication and for excellence in teaching. Direct experience working with Native American communities is preferred for either senior or junior rank appointments. Additional preferences include a successful record of external grant funding and research and service background with global indigenous issues. As permitted by Title VII, preference will be given to qualified Native American candidates.
