1. Kate buys 30 heaps of tomatoes, each with 8 tomatoes from a farmer. how much will Kate earn
by each tomato at UGX 200?

3. In a hospital, a doctor checks on a patient after every 36 minutes while a nurse checks on the
same patient after every 24 minutes. If they last check on the patient together at 9:00am, at
what time will they next check the patient at the same time?

5. Ronna had a certain number of mangoes, she got more 6 mangoes from Amina, and then
Lutaaya took 8 mangoes from her. How many mangoes did Ronna have at first if she was left
with 16 mangoes altogether?
6. John is facing in the North Eastern direction, what direction will he be facing if he turns
i. 180 clockwise
ii. 135 anti-clockwise
7. Without using your calculator, work out 5/6 – (1/2 X l1/2) show all the steps of your working.
8. The height of 6 pawpaw seedlings in centimeters are 60, 55, 46, 43, 56, and 58. Calculate the
mean and median of the seedlings
9. Three students Sarah, James and Ismail shared money in the ratio 4:6:9 respectively, Ismail
received shs24, 300. How much money did they share?

11. Your family has five siblings; Shamim, Gorret, David, Juma and Esther. There is an interval of two
years between the ages of the children, from Esther to Shamim. Shamim is 24years old. Using
arrows diagram, explain the information about your family

15. Due to the invasion of the floating island on river Nile, Waiswa can not use his usual route to sail
from Busaana to Kalgala. He insraed first sails northwards to Bukamba then turns to the East to
get to Kalagala.
Bukamba is 30km North of Busaana, Kalagala is 20km East of Bukamba. The boat engine
consumes diesel worth ug ss 1,100 per kilometer.
Task: Help waiswa establish the cost of the extra fuel he will need to cover the unsual distance
to safely reach his destination.
