Iloilo City, a vibrant tapestry of
history, culture, and festivity, is
poised to host its flagship
celebration once more: the
Dinagyang Festival. Marking its
spot on the 2024 calendar, the
city streets will pulsate with
rhythm, color, and devout
enthusiasm from January 12th
to 28th, in a grand tribute to the
beloved Señor Sto. Niño.

Dear Shihan, Sensei, Fellow Karateka,
Warmest greetings!
We, the ILOILO TINAGAN SCHOOL OF MARTIAL ARTS, INC (ITSMAI) in
cooperation with Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI), one of the organizers of the
Dinagyang Festival, will have the “2nd ITSMAI DINAGYANG KARATEDO
CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024” this coming January 27, 2024 (Saturday) at the Festive Mall,
Megaworld, Iloilo.
We invited schools, clubs and other organizations with-in all over the country. We have also
invited experienced, competent referees and judges to ensure safety and efficiency but most of
all to ensure fair and accurate decisions. This would result in a unique and exciting
championship.

A visit to Iloilo City this coming Dinagyang 2024 (a world-class festival) also means a visit to
the country’s first-ever City of Gastronomy in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network! You will
have this chance of savoring traditional dishes cooked using indigenous ingredients in an urban
centre bustling with traditional restaurants!

In connection therewith, we would like to invite your club/organization to participate in this

invitational competition. Please see attached detailed information, entry form and waiver for the
said event.
Attached herewith are the categories and guidelines of the said tournament.

VI. TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS:

WKF Rules of Competition will be strictly implemented including those agreed upon during the
managers and coaches meeting. The person in charge of submitting the entries confirm that all
competitors have been advised of the risk of kumite Competitions and that they fully realize and
accept these risks.

For 6-12 years old, bout duration is 60 seconds, first to reach six (6) points.
➢For 13-17 years old, bout duration is 60 seconds, first to reach six (6) points.
➢For 18 years old and above, bout duration is 90 seconds, lead of eight (8) points.

VII. SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

1. All participants must provide for their own medical expense / insurance.
2. All Kumite participants must use gum shield (mouth guard).
3. All kumite players MUST wear body protector.
4. All kumite players must use approved red and blue shin/instep guard.
5. Only approved red and blue mitts and red and blue belt may be used.
6 The Organizing Committee must first approve all body protectors before they can be
used.

7. The technical Officials must first approve all body protectors before they can be used.

8. All participants must wear white Karate Gi only. Badges of the club/organization are
allowed.

VII. REGISTRATION
1. All particpants must be able to present proof of age. (BIRTH CERTIFICATES, VALID ID’s,
etc.)
2. Deadline of submission of entries is on January 10 , 2023.
3. Entry fee is Php 500.00 for individual events. No limit of entries.
4. Entry fee is Php 1,500.00 for Team Events.

Only KPSFI License Referees and Judges will officiate the Championship.

VII. ACCOMMODATION
We are recommending to book via airbnb (www.airbnb.com) just type SM MALL OF
ASIA and you can choose a variety of condominiums and apartments that are very affordable and
walking distance to the competition area. If you need assistance, please contact us.
VII. OTHER EXPENSES
Airfare, hotel accommodations, food, medical and other incidental expenses are to be
shouldered by the participating clubs/organizations or Individuals. (Please advise if you will
participate so we can arrange hotel for you).
VII. AWARDING CEREMONIES
Each tournament category is to be culminated by awarding ceremonies for all events of
the day. Winners must attend the awarding ceremonies in proper attire (white karategi or track
suit and no shoes/sandals) to receive their awards or they forfeit their awards. No proxies
allowed.

Each participating club/organization may field in a maximum number of entries in each
event. However, only a maximum of 800 entries received by Sportdata will be accepted on a first
come first served basis. All ages must be as of competition date (JUNE 20, 2023) Proof of age
(photocopy birth certificate, passports, etc…) must be submitted to the Organizing Committee
together with the entry forms and waivers.
