Precautions in Maintenance and Handling
1. Repairs should be performed by qualified service personnel.

2. WARNING:
2.1 To avoid the risk of touching to any hot spot on UV Curing section
to cause injury, system has to be cool down before performing
any service procedure in curing section.
2.2 To avoid the risk of electrical shock, disconnect the machine from
the A.C. power source before performing any service procedure.
3. The hardware used is METRIC. Replace hardware only with the
same size as was originally used.
4. Observe caution when cutting cable “ty-wraps” so as not damages
the electrical wires.
5. Note the routing of wiring harnesses, cables and the position of parts
and assemblies before disassembly. They must be reassembled in
the original configuration to avoid damage from moving components
during operation.
6. When using a tool generating heat such as soldering iron, take care
not to damage the wire harnesses and cables.

The following is recommended to prevent the PU rollers and rubber rollers from getting damaged:
1. PU roller must be cleaned thoroughly, especially if Satin or Mate is used for application.
2. Make sure all the upgrades to prevent the applicator roller from getting a flat spot are
installed.
3. No other chemicals are used, other than alcohol, to clean to applicator roller.
4. Use a clean rag for cleaning. Do not use any sharp objects to clean the applicator rollers.
Effective immediately Duplo will no longer accept damaged rollers under warranty.

Subject : Applicator Roller cleaning solution

After doing further investigation of applicator rollers getting damaged after cleaning, we have
concluded that Isopropyl alcohol should be the only solution to be used for cleaning. We have tried
different solutions in the market and found that they cause the UV solution to cluster in small clumps
clogging tubes and sticking to the applicator rollers. The applicator roller can be wiped off but the
clumps stay in the UV solution pan, which if not cleaned thoroughly can cause it to stick on the
applicator roller. With time it can create spots or weaken the applicator roller integrity.
Effective immediately, if a cleaning solution other than isopropyl alcohol was used, warranty will be
voided. Make sure customers are using proper cleaning solution for cleaning applicator rollers.

Purpose : upgrading

To heat up the toner and UV so the coating quality can be improved when the paper dries.
For the IR unit, the power consumption is 220V single phase with 10A.
Customer must prepare the power source. This is independent power from UV coater.
1. Install IR to the first chamber of UV curing section – between UV coating section and UV
lamp section.
a. Put IR body first.
b. Use existing screws to mount two brackets to the inner side.
c. Then mount IR body to the brackets.
2. Insert IR control box black flexible conduit from UV coater either top or bottom of the
plate. Then follow the UV lamp flexible conduit to the IR section.
3. Connect IR wiring as picture below. Terminal in green circle is to earth ground. Use one of
the screws from the UV curing section first chamber to tie this terminal.
4. Connect 220V single phase wires into the IR control box as shown below.
5. Connect connection 8-PIN F/F cable between UV Coater and IR control box.

7. Plug wires 41 and 41-1 to Relay R17 No. 12 and 8 respectively, and then connect these
two wires to terminal TB6 left side with spare terminals.

8. From the terminal TB6 right side, connect wires 41, 41-1 to 8-PIN connector pin 7 and 8
respectively – Soldering needed.
