G. CONTENTS
c) Activity/Class organisation:
The teacher shows Ss a series of pictures showing winter landscapes and different familiar stories and
tries to elicit the lesson title for today – Winter Story. After guessing it, the Ss are asked to write it down
in their notebooks.
f) Possible problems: Ss may find it difficult to identify the exact two words for the lesson titles and
may produce different answers than the anticipated ones. The teacher will offer support and provide
extra hints and questions to guide their discovery.
Objective 1:
c) Activity/Class organisation:
The teacher shows the children flashcards with characters (a penguin, a reindeer, a snowman, etc),
actions (to ski, to eat, to jump, to sleigh, etc) and some places (mountains, park, a school, a shopping
centre, etc) and askes the Ss to pronounce the new words.
f) Possible problems: Some students might not be able to correctly pronounce the words at first but the
teacher will exemplify and make sure there are no errors.
Objective 2:
f) Possible problems: Some students might name the missing letters in Romanian or mispronounce
them. The teacher might ask a different classmate to offer support and help with the correct answer.
Objective 3:
c) Activity/Class organisation:
The teacher shows the Ss a PowerPoint presentation game – “What’s in the box?” in which they need to
read clues about the target word and identify it correctly. The class will be divided into two teams and
each participant in the teams will read a clue and then make an assumption about the word that might be
hidden in the virtual box.
f) Possible problems: Some students might be in a hurry to make a guess before collecting enough
clues. The teacher will encourage them to work as a team and support each other while trying to identify
the correct word.
Objective 4:
c) Activity/Class organisation:
The teacher shows the Ss Appendix 1 and asks them to copy it on their own notebooks. The teacher and
Ss will complete the grid together in order to have 6 characters, 6 actions and 6 places written down.
After the table is complete, the Ss will roll a virtual dice 3 times and make up a funny sentence
accordingly (eg: The name of the first character + the third action + the fifth place), without writing them
on their notebooks.
f) Possible problems: Some students might not remember all 6 characters/actions/places needed for
completing their grid. The teacher will encourage them to help each other and will also provide some of
the answers if needed.
