of a democracy. It invol ves engaging i n poli tical

and holding elected offi cials account able.
ISSUES AND PROGRAMS RELATED TO
POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT AND YOUTH
EMPOWERMENT

There are various programs and i nit iat ives aimed

at promoting pol itical engagement and youth
empowerment in the Philippi nes. Among these ar e
youth councils, voter education campaigns, and
political leadership programs.
Studying the different branches of government, the Local Government
Unit, Civil Society, and Active Citizenship has made me realized the
importance of staying informed and engaged in political affairs. As a
citizen, it is my responsibility to be aware of the issues facing my
community and to take an active role in shaping the future of my
country.

I have learned that democracy is not only about the institutions and
structures of government, but also about the participation and
engagement of citizens. It is through civil society and social movements
that marginalized groups can be empowered and their voices heard.

Moreover, understanding the roles and responsibilities of each branch

of government and the role of Local Government Unit is crucial for
ensuring that policies and programs are implemented effectively and
that elected officials are held accountable.

Overall, I am more aware of the importance of active citizenship in

shaping the future of our country, and I am committed to staying
informed and involved in political affairs.
