TASK 1: READING
Based on the following restaurant review, tick (/) the correct statements or
cross(x) the false statements
Had lunch with my buddy. We love the modern ambience of this new café. There is a
variety of delicious local and western food with plenty of flavour. Quite impressive
for a new restaurant.
However, the service was slow. I had to wait 30 minutes before my chicken chop was
served. By the time the order arrived, I had lost my appetite! And the chips were
soggy too. On top of that, we had to wait ten minutes before given a place to sit.
Perhaps it was our fault we did not make a reservation but the café was half empty.
It was unreasonable that they asked us to wait that long.
I love the coffee though. It was freshly ground. But the pistachio ice-cream we
ordered was horrible. I couldn’t finish the dessert. we left feeling disappointed. Not
worth the RM35.00 I paid for.

Lake and the business centre. It is the favourite café for location
fresh and of the best quality. The dishes had the warmth of
home-cooked food. A range of hot and cold drinks are sold at

What a pity though that the service was disappointing.
