STUDENT HANDBOOK

We, the community of Mangga Elementary School manifesting our devotion to


strive to inculcate in ourselves and in our students the:

VISION
Mangga Elementary School leads in the improvement of
Filipino children who are God-loving, values centered, highly
competitive and productive citizens

MISSION

Provide basic quality education that cultivates reading and


writing, computation and critical thinking skills, instill love
of God and country and develop self-reliant and value
centered elementary school graduates.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Employ learning experiences that will provide students with the opportunity, training
inspiration to develop and practice discipline, proper values, and desirable social
behavior.

2. Provide a safe and healthy atmosphere to develop student growth in a positive


direction.

3. Develop a code that is progressive in nature, follows legal due process where
students must comply in terms of their conduct.

4. Produce graduates who have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to
become responsible and productive students.
GENERAL SCHOOL RULES AND POLICIES

1. All Grade levels, transferees, old students (dropped out) must comply with the admission
requirements.

2. Must wear the prescribed uniform ID and haircut at all times.

3. Regular attendance and punctuality in class must be observed.

4. All misconduct behavior within the school, campus will not be tolerated, and students
will be disciplined.

5. Alcoholism/ Vandalism/ /Drug Abuse/ Violence/ Smoking /Deadly


Weapons inside the school campus is strictly prohibited.

6. Pupils’ activities under the name of the school should be organized only if
it is with the permission of the Principal’s office.

7. The authorities of the school claim the right to treat violations of the rules and policies
in accordance with their system of discipline and guidance.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1. SREA for Grade I


2. Photocopies of birth certificate/ NSO
3. Form 137/SF 10 (Permanent Record)
4. Form 138/SF 9 (Report Card)

PRESCRIBED UNIFORM

For boys:
White short sleeves polo/ t-shirt
Khaki pants
Black shoes
Short clean haircut
• Earrings and dyed hair are strictly prohibited.

For Girls:
White blouse with marine collar
Green skirt
Black shoes
• Any hair style provided that:
- Bangs should be cut above the eyebrows.
- Sides if they are long, should be held by clips in place.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
1. Students shall attend classes and activities sponsored by the school/ where
attendance is obligatory.

2. Habitual cases of tardiness and cutting classes shall be dealt with in the
Principal’s Office with parental contact.

3. Students who have been absent for more than twenty percent (20%) of the total
number of school days will be dropped.

4. Absence from classes shall have promissory note prepared and duly signed by
the student concerned certified by his parents/ guardian, presented to the adviser.

5. Transfer to school or withdrawal from the roll should be officially applied to the
office of the principal.

BEHAVIOR
1. Silence and order shall be maintained at all times upon entering and leaving the
classroom.

2. During class hours, students shall always be attentive and cooperative, refrain from
doing things not connected with the whole class or lesson.

3. As a sign of respect, the student shall rise when called upon to recite or when
propounding questions to the teachers.

4. Students may leave the classroom only upon permission of the teacher.

5. Students shall not eat in the classroom and all other restricted areas.

6. Students shall not cheat or commit any form of dishonesty in relation to their studies.

7. Students shall keep the classroom clean and free from litter.

8. Loitering or creating any disturbance in the corridors or passageway is strictly


prohibited.

9. Students shall refrain from making unnecessary noise nor causing commotion of
any kind or leave the hall during academic function.

10. Students shall refrain from using language and committing acts that are disrespectful,
vulgar, or which in any manner may cause or tend to disturb other students,
faculty members and employees.

11. Students shall at all times refrain from committing acts that may embarrass the
school that reflect dishonor upon it.
ALCOHOLISM, ETC.

1. Students shall not write, draw or engrave on black boards, wall or in any place
or any property of the school; indecent, libelous, defamatory or subversive
words or figures.

2. Students shall not bring to school objects and pictures which are morally
offensive on subversive.

3. Committing or inciting others to commit malicious damage to the personnel


property of a member of school, community or property owned by the school
will not be tolerated.

6. Physical or verbal actions that leads to or any may lead to violence are subject to
disciplinary action.

8. Any type of unwelcome conduct, verbal or non-verbal in the forms of


demeaning slurs, name calling, gestures, or other words and action relating to
race, color, national origin, religion, gender, life style or handicap will result in
disciplinary action.

1st offense: referred to Guidance Office; given failing grade on test/ assignment;
parents contact.
2nd offense: given a failing grade on test/assignment and 3 days
suspension
3rd offense: given a failing grade on test/assignment and 1 week suspension

3. Direct physical assault upon faculty, personnel or any vested with authority.

administration in ridicule or contempt; gross misconduct/ insubordination / willful
disobedience.

PARENTS INVOLVEMENT

1. Parents are not required to be a part of the discussion about how schools will
help students meet their academic performance standard.

2. Parents are welcome in the school and are encouraged to make a mutually
convenient appointment with the teachers to discuss any area of concern.

3. It is the responsibility of parents to assure that students are in classes and to


notify the school when the students are absent.
