SCHOOL BASED IMMUNIZATION

The Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with the Department of Education has
implemented the School-Based Immunization program to aged 9-13 years old females for Human
Papillomavirus Vaccination (HPV) as part of a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to prevent
cervical cancer and diseases caused by Human Papillomavirus and all Grade 1 pupils for Measles
Rubella (MR) & Tetanus Diptheria (Td) through provision of MR and Td vaccines to all Grade 1 and
Grade 7.

In this connection the Rural Health Unit team conducted the said immunizations in Elizabeth
Elementary School on August 30, 2017 with 5 MR recipients and 22 Td recipients for grade 1 and
with the total of 24 recipients of HPV aged 9-13 years of females of the said school.
