The Torsion Catapult

Background: We met our course domains by School Data: Figure 5

arguments with evidence relating to changing our catapult
when something isn't working. We designed and executed our 20011
designs, we analyzed and interpreted data by recognizing Design process :
patterns that could better off our catapult, we used
mathematics to calculate how far it could go ,and we used

problem solving when something wasn't going to go our way.
Some of our inspiration was from previous catapults and

Research objective:
Our research objective was to be able to have the ball
launched in the catapult go at a far enough distance,
and to be accurate, every single time. We were able to Catapult score sheet.
meet his objective by raising the catapult higher and
creating an accurate throw each time. Conclusion:
Materials: ● We were aiming to get to the center circle worth 12 points
● 13 pieces of wood and we got it around that 3 different times.
● 28 nails ● Most of the time we were slightly off from the circle but just
Hannah finishing
● 1 lacrosse stick Annie drilling in nails, barely due to the fact that we didn’t tighten the rope
up the painting.
● Some rope while Sylvia and Lyla between each launch.
● The total estimated cost is: $1.19 hold it down. ● Our design of the catapult was really good but the execution

● The way the torsion fired was mostly consistent in the

distance but didn't go as far as we wanted. That was as
long as it was a consistent tightness on the rope.
The Final ● When we were building the catapult the catapult wasn’t
firing as far as we wanted, so we added stilts to increase
catapult the initial height therefore making the drop take longer while
the ball was launching eventually making the ball go further
