2) Write a short paragraph(s) answering “Which city is a more desirable destination to visit?
Why?

Also known as the Eternal City, Rome is home to some of the most historic monuments, art, and
architecture in the world. The historical complex of this city dates back to a time when gladiator fights
were the daily form of entertainment, the city is just alive and bursting at the seams with fascinating
things to see and do. For this reason, I’d say that Rome is the more desirable destination to visit. For one
reason, there is some incredible historical architecture within the Roman ruins. The Colosseum is the
most prominent example of such ancient Roman architecture, as well as the Pantheon. There are not many
places as packed with history as this city is. Rome is one of the oldest and well-preserved cities in the
world. In fact, the entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and there are also a jaw-dropping
number of monuments, ruins, artworks, and feats of architecture to enjoy. Another reason is the
impressive artwork as presented in the Sistine Chapel with the influential works of Michaelangelo in
particular. Rome is bursting with arts and culture. There are so many festivals, outdoor markers, and
cultural events taking place around the city. It truly is a vibrant city! Another reason that makes Rome a
more desirable destination to visit is the city within a city: the Vatican! Vatican City is the headquarters
of the Roman Catholic Church and has major significance within the Christian world. It is also home to
the Pope and endless pieces of iconic art and architecture. Many tourists go there to see the St. Peters
Basilica, renowned around the world for its spirituality and center of faith. The vibrant city is also rich in
entertainment! Theatrical performances, opera, ballet, and musicals are popular all over Rome, especially
in the warm summer months. It is also quite scenic. The Villa Borghese is brimming with nature, and
picturesque gardens that just add to the unique atmosphere of this romantic city. In summary, Rome
definitely deserves to be the more desirable city to visit! There really isn’t another city that has as much
influence on the modern world as Rome does. The culture-hub is full of history, architecture, religion, and
culture, and still holds onto the beauty of the past even though thousands of years have passed.
