Introduction: Hello and welcome to our video interview on

nutrition requirements for TB patients. Today we will be discussing

the recommended daily intake of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and
micronutrients

All TB patients should receive nutritional assessment and support.

TB patients with low body weight or body mass index (BMI) should
receive nutritional support, including a balanced diet and nutritional
supplements.

Nutritional support should be provided throughout the entire course

of TB treatment, not just during the intensive phase.

Energy intake should be increased by 10-15% for patients with low

BMI or weight loss.

Protein intake should be increased to 1.5 g/kg of body weight per

day for patients with low BMI or weight loss.

Patients with severe malnutrition or those unable to eat should

receive specialized nutritional support, such as tube feeding or
intravenous nutrition.

Nutritional support should be integrated into the overall

management of TB patients, including their medical treatment and
counseling.

It is important to note that nutritional support alone cannot cure TB,

but it can help to improve the patient's overall health and

immune system, which can aid in the treatment of TB.
