STEP 8: Reflection

The scenario in question offered a stimulating investigation of the potential

advantages and difficulties connected with the employment of CRISPR
Cas-9 technology in the future. Our team was able to explore the
complexity of this issue, consider several points of view, and create an
action plan to deal with the underlying issue thanks to our participation in
the future problem-solving process. We learned important lessons about
the moral, social, and scientific implications of genome editing technologies
through cooperative effort.

The significance of taking into account many viewpoints and

comprehending the potential ramifications of technology breakthroughs
was one of the main lessons to be drawn from this event. We understood
that while CRISPR Cas-9 has exciting potential for the avoidance of
disease, the enhancement of features, and increased lifespan, it also poses
serious issues with regard to morality, inequity, and unexpected effects.
The importance of following responsible decision-making procedures for
the implementation of new technologies cannot be overstated especially if
they can significantly affect both people and society.

The ability to draw on each person's different skill set and perspective
made our teamwork successful. We had spirited debates, questioned
presumptions, and critically assessed the benefits and drawbacks of our
suggested solutions. This method brought to light how crucial it is to build a
positive team dynamic through effective communication, active listening,
and constructive criticism. In order to produce well-rounded and
knowledgeable viewpoints, we relied on insights from areas including
science, health, ethics, and policy, which further demonstrated the
significance of multidisciplinary collaboration.

This learning experience also highlighted the importance of foreseeing and

resolving potential difficulties and restrictions in any suggested solution.
While our action plan had interesting ideas, we understood that it also had
fundamental flaws that needed to be identified and fixed. This activity
forced us to use our imaginations and investigate different tactics that
would improve the efficacy, usability, and moral implications of our
suggested solutions.
