Labor Compliance Specialist Summary of Duties: Reporting directly to the Director, DBE, monitors and ensures compliance of federal

and state labor laws on Metras federal and state funded projects. Ensures all publicly funded construction projects are compliant with the Davis-Bacon Act, Illinois Labor Code, and all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Reviews and analyze certified payrolls on construction projects to ensure prevailing wage requirements. Researches, interprets and enforces various sources of regulatory documentation pertaining to labor issues. Participates in pre-bid meetings; conducts labor compliance preconstruction meetings and reviews bid specifications. Schedules and performs on-site investigations to determine labor compliance and investigate violations. Develops, prepares and distributes monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports as required by management, user departments and the U.S. Department of Labor. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Bachelors Degree OR in lieu of degree one (1) year of substantive labor compliance and/or certified payroll experience may be substituted for each year of lacking relevant collegerelated course work up to four (4) years. In addition to #1, a minimum of three (3) years of labor compliance and/or certified payroll experience, which includes labor compliance laws and regulations, prevailing wage regulations, construction trades and/or classifications. Knowledge of LCPtracker or other labor compliance software is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites. Must be able to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of management, employees, external groups and/or organizations. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
