“A silent voice” es una película de dibujos animados japoneses (anime) que
cuenta el abuso del niño a la niña sorda en el colegio en una ciudad japonesa y el progreso socioemocional del mismo niño (ya adolescente) más el arreglo de su relación con la misma niña abusada por él (también adolescente como él).
Aunque el tema de este filme se centra en el protagonista que va mejorando su
situación socioemocional arreglando cosas pendientes desde su niñez, también hay varios temas diferentes como la normalización del uso de la lengua de signos japonesa (la protagonista sorda signa frecuentemente con su familia y también empieza a signar con el que le había abusado); el abuso de una excompañera infantil del protagonista a la sorda; la sobreprotección de la familia a la protagonista, el resurgir del amor entre él y ella.
Lo primero es que esta película no solo sensibiliza la importancia de los
aparatos auditivos para la infancia sorda, ya que el protagonista pequeño no paraba de quitar los aparatos a la niña sorda como le daba la gana sin ser consciente de que le hacía mucho daño y sin saber que los aparatos son muy caros, sino también la visibilización de la comunicación en lengua de signos para que la protagonista sea capaz de comprender todo y también esté cómoda comunicando con las demás personas como, por ejemplo, su propia familia, el protagonista, las amistades antiguas del colegio.
Pues la protagonista sorda, siendo niña, se presenta con su cuaderno escrito
por ella y les avisa a todos los compañeros del colegio que no oye. Frecuentemente no habla, simplemente está callada y signa con naturalidad (aún más siendo adolescente). También recibe la comunicación escrita de los demás compañeros en su propio cuaderno. Y tristemente es maltratada por el protagonista. Ahora, siendo adolescente, ya se siente cada vez mejor signando con el mismo protagonista, ya que se ha arrepentido por su mala actitud. Y lo cierto es que quiere suicidarse por la situación compleja alrededor de ella como el abuso de una excompañera, la sobreprotección de su familia, sus propios pensamientos de suicidio, pero se ha salvado gracias al protagonista que ha sobrevivido de la caída del balcón de casa de ella. Al final ella está muy contenta con él porque por fin son novios.
