Latest Covid-19 Situation in Malaysia

The Director General of Health, Datuk Dr. Muhammad Radzi bin Abu Hassan, in his
official media statement dated 3 December 2023 stated that from 19th November
2023 to 25th November 2023, a total of 3,626 Covid-19 new cases were reported,
an increase of 53% compared to 2,305 cases reported in the previous week.

2. Due to this surge, Ministry of Health has advised the public to prac se the
following preven ve measures:

(a) Always maintain a high level of personal hygiene, regularly wash

hands using water and soap or hand sani zer;
(b) Those with symptoms are advised to rest at home and avoid public
places. If it is necessary to go out it is advisable to wear a mask to
avoid the spread of infec on;
(c) High-risk groups such as senior ci zens, individuals with chronic
diseases, individuals with low immunity and expectant mothers are
encouraged to wear face masks;
(d) Adopt TRISS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform, and Seek) when having
symptoms;
(e) Immediately consult a doctor for examina on if symptoms worsen,
especially those in high-risk groups; and
(f) Ge ng a primary dose of vaccine and booster dose of Covid-19
vaccine at a health clinic to reduce the risk of transmission of
infec on, morbidity, and death especially for high- risk group.

4. Management of Positive Covid-19 Cases
(a) The duration of Home Surveillance Order (HSO) is 5 days starting
from the onset of symptom.
(b) The HSO will be issued via MySejahtera application.
(c) The positive case individual will be released from the HSO after 5
days; however, they need to observe the following preventive
measures:
(i) To wear a face mask at public places.
(ii) Avoid congested area.
(iii) Avoid meeting high-risk group.
(iv) Only travel when necessary.
(v) Regularly wash hand with soap or hand sanitizer.
